I mean it’s pretty obvious EA has nerfed the promo packs within the mystery pack (Superbowl, genki force, TOTY) and I’m not talking about the rate of obtaining them because that is already obvious. I’m talking about the contents of the pack… it’s pretty blatant they lowered the odds to pull the hero cards, 92 93 95s. How is this legal? or is it such a grey area that nobody can prove it

Grey area nobody can prove. plus it’s probably in the user agreement somewhere you can’t sue them anyway. Their have been attempts bring up class action lawsuits against EA but none have worked.
I’ve lost all hope for a fair and square H2h competitive video game.

Good day
I completely understand the frustration which is why I will never give another penny to this mode. They are completely scamming their users with training and pack odds and have completely destroyed all the fun things this mode has once offered. I could understand if the gameplay was better but that’s not the case instead it has gotten worse.
Ea should required to have a gambling license and be regulated. They are no different than a casino

They are worse than a casino… you need to be over a certain age for that. This game targets children

This, all day this^^ 💯💯💯
They're basically operating an unregulated casino for literal children. But they've been to court over it and insist these are just "fun little surprises, in a game of chance" definitely not playing cards or trading cards of any variety. Egad, that might imply gambling. We couldn't have that...

Agreed and like Peatrick and others have stated, they’re targeting children! As someone with addiction problems, I’ll admit it’s gotten the best of me so without meaningful change to this mode, my days are unfortunately numbered. I take full accountability for being taken for a ride this year though , but man do they make that slope as slippery as they can!
If u think pack odds are bad here go to NBA2k MyTEAM 😆 what a joke that game is at giving players to ppl.

100%
If you talk about this on the Reddit page it will get removed and you might even get banned. I don’t know how much longer they will get away with this. The “user agreement” is the loophole. We’ve all signed a contract that Allows them to do whatever they want with no repercussions, including BANNING you from the mode.
One of those Opp packs had 95% chance at 95, I got all 91's (5).
That is just insane.
Edit: I suspect the odds on those Opp packs are terrible if they are offering more than 1. Obv to entice you to purchase more. If the offer is for 1 the odds may be better, who knows.

I definitely agree about NBA2k being horrible. Years ago my son when he was 10 would do odd jobs around the house for money so he could buy these packs. Sat with him once when he opened a 10 pack (after saving a lot of money together). Every pack had the same card, which was the worse in the set. After that stopped allowing him to buy packs, I learned how to use the auction house (after buying coins one time so that he could get some of the cards he wanted right away), and we always were able to get the cards he needed. When we switched to Madden after NBA2k got rid of the auction house, doing the same with just making the coin we need through the AH and my refusing to let him ever buy a pack. Considering the "prizes" they are giving cost them nothing, it really is horrible what they are doing to children by teaching them about gambling instead of just consumer products.

Good ole "Binding Arbitration" -- just by merely entering and playing the game, we're forced to basically give up any rights. There are very few happy endings when interacting with, or dealing with EA in basically any capacity.
Although there is a blueprint out there for anyone who gets royally screwed, but it's not fast and EA won't give up easily.
- sending a snailmail (certified delivery) letter to EA legal
- wait
- go to arbitration (EA will settle at the very last moment, they're not gonna EVER be accused of having to do actual work)
Funny how people talk about it being a casino for kids. Then openly talk about getting their kids addicted. Can’t make this shit up.
There is a certain economy to gambling that makes it necessary for the house to win, and every child with ten years of life behind them should be able to understand this. I think calling buying packs "gambling" is a stretch, as the mechanism is entirely different. Just because dopamine is involved doesn't make something "gambling" by any legal definition. Anyone who has been buying packs of Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, etc. needs to acknowledge that they're engaging in a transaction exchanging (generally) fiat currency for an item that has zero intrinsic value regardless of the outcome of the randomly prepared pack. EA protects themselves legally by not providing a mechanism to exchange coins for money, and by taking administrative actions against those that circumvent the UT Terms of Use in order to "sell" coins.
