I tried Man Defense...it was awful

I spent my coins and built a combine super team

Season C Woodson, Wiggins, Crom, Porter - all with Inside Shade, Pick Artist, Med Route KO

Clowney, Von Miller, Jordan Davis as my pass rush with DoN, Unstopp Force

Derwin and Harrison Smith deep with all Zone KOs

Cross and Cushing sub LB with Zone KOs

Ran dollar and I got torched

Ran Nickle 4 man DLine...and I got torchwed

Cant cover simple steaks...get burned for 1 play TDs

Any form of bunch...my DBs bump into each other

Space and switch...the Sub LB can cover the RB outside slant route

Summary...went back to Zone

Outside of Double Mug Mid Blitz (which is still easy to torch)....do any man formations work?

nickel over edge blitz 0 ifyou trust your dbs and can adjust presnap to get a quick blitz AND press cover hard

I press and undershade...and wrs break my press for 1 play tds

Oh i definitely feel you , last night i put together a team with 4 one step aheads, cost me a couple million. Absolutely torched every play, literally no difference than a team without the one step aheads.

Running man only works well if you route commit. You need too many adjustments and audibles. I’d rather just come out in zone and man up 1-2 players that I think might get the ball.

I dont know what One Step Ahead actually does?  Maybe counter route Tech, but no one needs to use route tech

I dont get destroyed on sharp cuts, but just my defenders getting burnt off the release or getting clogged on crossers and bumping into one another

Even if Im not getting the KOs on zone...at least I can adjust tehir position, switch stick and not leave huge openings for 1 play TDs

It isnt so much getting burnt on routes, like corners, etc.  I never play anyone with route tech, so not sure route commiting with help

Its playing against bunch where my DBs get clogged...or against mesh, they bump into each other

Plus no LB seems to be able to cover RBS...i have to put on my DEs on a flat, which loses me a pass rusher

Other than SRKO, nothing works in man.

GF Lattimore has been one of my best corners, he is a 50/50 guy. Will get cooked but also make plays every game. I agree with an earlier comment, disguise your man looks and that's your best bet

There’s a couple pro players that run 6-1 man to man and they route commit on every play. Astro just ran it in the madden bowl and was locking up some really good players. Another guy that runs 6-1 man is dottimus, he streams on twitch almost every day. Route committing will help your man defense tremendously but you have to do a lot of adjusting.

I run a lot of man and it gets torched more than I like to admit with the team of db's I have but I noticed overtop is the most consistent of the shading and I stay away from route commit unless it's individual. Underneath is decent but it gives up to much to the inside. I'm trying to find stunts to work with the man defense cause if they have more than 3 seconds you're fried.

man coverage is all user based you gotta run double bracket or double man out of nickel and user a safety. i do all the time and MOST of the time it’s lock down but you just gotta be a good user

There is no good defense against good players.

The whole year has evidenced that coverage sucks, but man coverage sucks more. I switch to man coverage only to mix up coverages with a chance to force a pick. Willie Cover 6 is a favorite hybrid from which I still need to make numerous pre-snap adjustments according to my opponent's tendencies.

Bottom line: You need to luck out into usering against your opponent's first read, and hope that the rest of the coverage isn't absolutely lost. I find that it's unlikely I will do this four plays in a row. I've heard people here remark that some users want man coverage to work so they don't have to think. In no era did NFL offenses score touchdowns approximately once every six plays, so something's broken. Since no NFL defense runs Mid Blitz every down, I'm going to guess that the Simon Stick-Smart Solution® promoted by the Cheaters (trademark registration denied, as it's an age-old iniquity) is the only way to play "winning" defense in MUT.
