from any formation honestly. 6-1, 3-4, nickel 3-3, dollar 3-2. i stopped showing blitz’s vs condensed formations because it brings my outside corners in.

This. You can't get picks if your players aren't in position in the first place. Zone KO's get you in place. Maybe you get the pick too. Coupled with bend-don't-break, you can force turnovers on downs, if not fumbles or interceptions.
1. Set zone drops. I’ve learned that most players like a particular route or area of the field. Setting zone drops will allow you to break from the limitations of standard zone shells.
1a. Set hard flats to higher depth (15-20 yards). With this setting, you can shade down and get the route jumping benefits while still covering deep and taking away corners/crossers.
2. DL abilities. I run IS/NO on my whole DLine. This allows me to stop the run consistently with only 3 down lineman. That said, if you get an asshat running IForm/heavy sets, you’ll still have to beef up yours as well.
3. Safeties at SLB. Regular backers aren‘t versatile enough to be used here. POTM Fred Warner the lone exception. Either is fine, but I prefer free safeties because the generally have balanced coverage stats compared to zone heavy SS’s.
4. Don’t overthink. Most players don’t have a complex strategy, and will run the same handful of plays/route concepts the entire game. Once you realize that, they get a lot more predictable.
My go to move is to user a DL and run to the end of the crosser they’ve been throwing to all game. By the time they realize you figured them out, they’ve either already thrown or are too deeply committed to hold back. Also, getting a pick with a linemen pisses people off to no end, which is an added bonus.
