how come the slot WR or TE just blows past my DB in man on a streak?

i'm shading over the top, giving cushion, guessing pass and they still just run straight past him....any tips?  they aren't faster, but the DB just dumbs out and stands there until the receiver is 2-3 yards behind him before reacting

Because this is   Madden and this game is broken.  

I can know the exact play and pass committ and shade the direction the WRs are going and they will still get beat. Oh and i have the highest ovr CBs on a TT. 

But magically my opponents Cbs can smother me

The video Jonbeast dropped a while back was 3-3 single mug, cover 4, show blitz on LBs, pinch dline, man up free  Kyle Hamilton on the slot WR, he has good press.

i'd like to run man though, but i just want my DB to not get run past.  i like to user cover routes that aren't streaks, streaks are really the only thing i want my DBs preventing

I’m a decent player. I went 55-13 last ranked session and i will tell you im so bad at man coverage. I know exactly what you’re talking about with people just blowing by my man coverage even with adjustments over the top. I’ve actually had better success by calling cover 3 and man’ing up the player I think can beat me in the seams. Idk why but I cannot run man coverage no matter what I do. On the other hand I see top comp guys run man to man every play.
