Maybe it was the part where you said you didn't trick yourself into thinking this is a football simulation when that's exactly what we should expect from a game that is exclusively licensed by the National Freakin' Football League.

The hover is ridiculously easy to counter. Just untarget the defender that’s hovering and then that guy won’t dumb out your lineman. It’s really that easy.

I run nickel over, nickel trap 2 play. i have auto flip on and then i shift the lb's to the side they are running. and use the lb opposite the side they are running as the user and hover over the DT on the side they are running to. You can man up the blitzing slot CB to the TE to stop the RPO that is run out of this formation too. Make sure to have a good user and cover the middle deep of the field if they try to beat you with cover two beaters.

As a former oline/TE guy I think I have the answer to this question, specifically as it applies to mut. He said Nickel not dime, so Vs a 3 tech DT, mike (hover guy a Sam backer and a DE, because he shifts his linebackers over a gap and blitzes the slot DB, so you've got 5 defenders vs 4 blockers (C, G, T, TE) assuming slot receiver probably whifs his block because he blitzed and probably aligned the slot db into a more advantageous position. There is hardly any good defense in the game, you should appreciate and copy it when other people find it.

I agree with almost everything you say about it not being a simulation football game... mut is just not. Gap shoots are more available becuase of the speed discrepancy between 95 speed linebackers and 65 speed lineman, on top of him just anticipating the play. mut has defensive ends that are the same speed as receivers. It's just not what you're looking for. I also sympathize with the struggles in the game. This is a helpful post though

What I wonder is what happened when the opponent countered with inside zone going the opposite direction.
