Can someone explain how Genki works? 

What is the USER player all about.

How do you know which of the 3 versions of each player to get?

Probably a player that was cast out because he was no good. He was barely able to make the team as a member of a very small, poor, rural village. The league put him to the ultimate challenge where he was up against all odds, until he was able to overcome it by unlocking his true inner power. Nobody knew his name, they called him 'User'.

I dont know much about anime but I get the gist of it. Definitely went something like that.
