i recently pulled 99 donald and sold him for 1.7m. decided to build a quality team isntead of the 89 ovr i had.

with that said, why does it seem like my 96-97ovr players do nothing on the field, they have flat mid n deep kos and still stand there and let catches happen! meanwhile my oppenets team comes across the field to tap my shoulder and everything is a drop. i even had a play where light up sapp broke through and just stopped running for no reason.

is there some secret on defensive adjustments im missing?

What adjustments are you making? You still want to set zone depths so your players are in position to make the correct play. A good starting place is flats to 25-30 to stop corner routes and curl flats to 0-5 for drag routes.

Also some route combos can bait the cpu into making bad decisions. But it's hard to say if that's what's happening here without any gameplay footage
