From last year so not sure if changed. Last comment in thread
I’ve used it on brady, i had SFL equipped at the time so didn’t notice a velocity change but the AI picks part, def cap

Fantastic thread, thank you for (re)posting this. As of last evening i began testing Gambit on Brady. Decided to roll with a 3AP stack and initial testing went well. I have yet to throw a bad pick, although i have my doubts that the Gambit ability prevents ALL ai controlled defenders from intercepting the ball, but that shouldn't be terribly difficult to test in Practice mode, i'll try to invest a few minutes this evening attempting to disprove that theory.
@ssjbes what stack are you running on Tom? I think this is what i ultimately decided on after making significant changes:
- Gift-Wrapped (1AP)
- Spin Cycle
- HJS / Roaming Deadeye
- Master Tactician (1AP)
- Truzz -- really wanted to try Brick Wall here, but i've fumbed on random QB sneaks (with Baker), so couldn't roll without Truzz
- Pocket Deadeye
- Gambit (1AP)
It's hell to get old. Wild that i've gotta ask the exact same questions two years in a row and have absolutely zero recollection of posting that thread during M24 cycle, oof. I wasn't able to tell a massive difference between regular Gunslinger + Pass Lead Elite versus Gambit, so i guess that's an overrall positive sign.

I’m enjoying brady’s upgrade, i was loyal to the pink SB brady upon release until the TTS tom. i’ve tried various qb’s from my themes (40pats/40colts) and tampa tom just consistently feels the smoothest across all throws.
I consider myself a pretty pocket centric qb, i’ll take my scramble if it’s there or as a last resort. This is a mix i don’t usually see, i’ll reveal the formula of the current stack i have set up, and i think i’m having the most success with this:
- Gift Wrapped ( 1 AP)
- Protected ( 0 )
- Roaming Deadeye (0 )
- Pocket Deadeye (0 )
- Truzz ( 0 )
- Master Tactician ( 1 AP )
- Gambit ( 1 AP )
Roaming & Pocket - Pretty much creates “Dots”. perfect passes whether standing i’m inside the pocket or not.
Gambit - For the throw power & velocity without having to spend, also to diminish the volume of ai picks that could be generated from a poor read or misplaced ball.

Awesome, slightly off-topic, but what'd you think of AR15 (or 5)?? My QB progression went roughly liek this; Anthony, Baker, Anthony, Baker, Tom. I am basically a statue in the pocket, so i don't take full advantage of the scrambling and that elite 99 SPD Brady is often going to waste, as well as Truzz... but after Baker fumbled at the goalline on a QB sneak, which nearly cost me a close/competitive game... well, i can no longer live without Truzz on my signal caller.
So we basically ended up at the same/similar stack, i ended up taking Roaming Deadeye off last evening, in favor of HJS, because i almost never heave the ball up once i'm outside the pocket. I may end up following your lead and going back to it, so i can add those Run N Gun style throws and still ensure they're perfect blue. Joe Montana is my all-time favorite player, which isn't really relevant to our conversation here, only so much as to explain that i'm basically married to one of three QB Release styles at this late stage in the season, in order from best (fastest) would be;
- Baker
- AR15 -- you can also build yer own "Dots" from the combo of Inside + Sideline Deadeye, which is how i originally started down this path.
- Joe / Tom
Thanks for the great insight. If only because it's 3AP versus 6 or 7, i'm sticking with this stack. Although, i'm having to run 3-4AP worth of Balance Beams on various skill position players to use up all of our ability points.
EDIT: I played one quick game of uhhh AKA Icons (Solo Seasons) and was intentionally throwing the ball directly at defenders and have yet to see a pick. I'm 100% with you, that aspect of Gambit sounds highly suspect, they can't be intercepted by AI defenders. I'm sure it won't be long before i'm able to personally disprove that theory. I know everyone has gone to Trevor Lawrence, but i seem to prefer the Over the Top 3 custom release style over that Generic 2 stuff, but everyone else seems to love it. All i know is it's Baker, AR15... and then everyone else. I'm a sucker for anything, even tangentially related to Joe Montana, so Tom isn't going anywhere -- not unless/until we see that Drake Maye drop, which i assume is this week.
as far back as i can remember i started the game off with Jameis in november. I’m a nola native/diehard saint so it was only right. i’ve went through, burrows, rg3, mahomes, peyton, cunningham, richardson, jordan love, none of them are what brady has been for me, not even close. i’m not sure if it’s the 99 throw accuracy or what, but i even like him better than josh allen. just more suitable for my style i guess

NP ;)
The problem boils down every year abilities are OP and they never even give us what they ACTUALLY do or impact, just like stats because that would mean everyone would run the same thing over and over and those are the only ones that would flip packs.
It shouldnt be up to us to figure out EVERY SINGLE THING in the game to have any headway.

You'll never convince me that anyone left at EA knows how any of this shit works, either... they're just monkeys pressing buttons and wholly incapable of making any meaningful changes at this point. The entire game needs to be rewritten from the ground up, but that requires time, effort and skill -- all of which EA Orlando / Tiburon is severely lacking. I'm not sure it'd be possible within a single calendar year even if you had the best, most well-funded, expert development team on the planet. Sadly, EA isn't guilty of any of those things.
So here we are, having to resurrect threads from the year prior -- at least we can be confident knowing that almost nothing has changed from year to year. OOF.

Yup just copy pasting code over and over year after year. They should take a year off and make it live service (ick) or something and just pay for a roster update or something. Would be better for everyone.... and getting rid of abilites.
