Easy Fix for ability haters?!

Seems like EA should give purists a mode where they can take their squad into a competitive match and Play with rewards that turns off all abilities.. 

I personally wouldn't want to play that mode, but it seems like a lot of people get annoyed at discounted or zero abilities and they should have a place to prove their skills without red herrings to blame 🤷‍♀️

Thats a great idea (idk how much id like that mode either but id try it) or any other idea they may have for a more casual simulation like mode as opposed to the mostly arcady stuff its become in all other modes. 

Of course, all the sweats and spammers etc would probably just ruin that mode too since they like to pick on weaker opponents/ruin the experiences of others as much as they actually lile winning IMO but it would be nice to have it as an option anyway. Couldnt hurt. You have all these other modes/events nobody ever asked for, so why not? Lol

I am completely on board with this. I would like it if there were still stat boosts and if it didn’t have the stat cap of 99.

I enjoy ability gameplay but with abilities becoming so dominant and prominent I find myself craving a good hard RAW…

Game mode

I think the real problem is that the ratings are often irrelevant leaving the abilities to make the plays players should make...unless they don't fire. rather than fix the code or just code better from the start, they lean on the abilities existing and driving revenue.

A true purist mode would probably also need to eliminate the vast majority of game altering animations (good and bad).

I would like to play H2H  mode where you can’t do following:

- Can only use same play two times on O and three times on D per game

- Only one audible / hot route per play on O and two on D

- Hurry up O only allowed 4th Q

- No stupid stadiums / uniforms allowed

- Abilities are fine either way

These would be pretty easy to complete

I agree with some sort of play counter, but I don't think it should be limited to only a couple times a game. It should be only a couple times a series. There are plenty of offenses that will run a play until the opposing defense finds a way to stop it.

Couple times per game is pretty realistic and there are enough plays at every playbook so you don’t need to use same plays.

Another option would be to add significant penalties for running the same plays over and over. 

Maybe a better term for what I was trying to describe is classic.

Or take abilities out of the game? Or make it like Madden 17 or 18 i think it was where only certain cards have certain abilities. I forgot the year the zero chill Favre had the big G on his card for Gunslinger. Abilities ruin the game.

Most people can't play unless they spam the youtube offensive plays all game. Kind of sad to see.

I hated zero ap abilties on the o-line.  the skill positions are here and there but that made  everyone  just set up shop and throw anything if it wasn't five wide. I had games today and before the zero chill that were about scheme and how to build your defense and offense accordingly.

Yea, i think those were better and it made certain cards unique. I think Madden 19 introduced abilities on every player but they weren't OP like they are now.
