Does EA secretly nerf cards?

This might be common knowledge for the more experienced folk, but has anybody noticed their cards slowly start to become kind of ass once newer cards are released? 
 

Ive played quite a few games today to test this out, Im having constant overthrows with my QB, im having receivers flat out drop wide open passes, and I’m having players fumble that never fumble. I had a game earlier where I had 3 fumbles in a row…these aren’t bums either. Chris Godwin, Josh Ross, Vernon Davis. it wasn’t against avalanche defensive players either. Just regular corners with no special hitting abilities. 
 

I started noticing this last year towards the end game when my 96 kicker started missing easy chip shots if the kick meter bar wasn’t perfect. In comparison to when the card first came out, where my kicker could still make chip shots even if the bar was a half an inch off the meter. 
 

again, this might be common knowledge, but just want to make sure I’m not going crazy here

Of course they do imo.

How else will they try to get you to spend money to get better cards.  Got a great QB,  once they release a few new ones, your QB will start throwing terribly.  RB that never fumbles, then 3-4 fumbles in one game.  They don't make any money if everyone keeps the sames cards for 2-3 weeks.

Makes total sense from the EA perspective. I figured they do/would. Just didn’t think it would be this noticeable. But makes sense!

I thought this was a thing for years? in old maddens as speed went up across the board old players got slower not the new guys getting faster.

Yeah! Personally, I noticed a nerf in Hurts awhile back where he would sail throws on speed outs and turn them into streaks. I never seen anything like that from other QBs. Happened quite often. I put GS on Poe and never looked back.

Also, Kittle doesn't run as smooth anymore, even with 98 speed. His feet do this weird animation when I cut up field.

I don’t think it’s in your head. I have Hurts as my QB1 as well and he used to be able to hit corner routes, speed outs & zigs perfectly. Now all of the sudden I struggle hitting them consistently. Ive ran these routes thousands of times with my team, so I know it’s not my timing on when I’m throwing. Has to be the card. 
 

I swap him and Nix out depending on what type of build I run on offense, even Nix seems to be not playing as well as he did initially. I have pocket deadeye on him and all of the games ive played today he’s sailing passes for me. The accuracy issues seem to be more present when I’m leading a receiver to the outside/inside. Even with the passes I am completing, I’m not hitting players in stride. My WR’s end up doing the diving animation on alot of passes. Something just seems off.

very easy to test this. Beginning of the MUT year time a few players running a certain distance. Then towards the end of the season time those same players running the same distance.
