I was just wondering because with the gt prices dropping I want to buy one but if I want to sell it I don't want my account being banned.

It happened a ton when they "fixed" the cards, specifically Drake Maye, which caused his price to jump, often 2-3x literally overnight.  So anyone who bought the card at ~1M, then proceeded to sell the following day for 3M+, well... that unfortunately triggered EA's lovely bots to automatically ban accounts.  It's so frustrating, because the coin resellers will still find creative ways to avoid these bots, while us regular players are basically out of luck if/when that happens.

All my nonsensical rambling aside, you should be okay.  Especially if it's just one card and you are selling for a "reasonable" markup (although most GTs typically do not hold value).
