Do You Quit Out of the First Game Following a Terrible Draft?

This game mode would be alright if 

1. They let you choose out of any coach - and I don't even mind being forced into both their playbooks

2. They made sure that you do not get 3 QB or HB options in the later rounds after you have already selected one

   I am sure there are more so feel free to add.

I think when people mention that it would be nice to have a year-round draft mode, it's spot on. If you don't have a competitive roster and want to play head-to-head and have a decent shot at competing, Draft lets you do that. It's also nice to consistently have House Rules modes that play quickly, in addition to more classic modes offered in Seasons, Champs, and Ranked.

This is the way. I made it all the way to my 5th game (i lost in OT) with short WRs, took the RB way too early because it was a top 100 card I always wanted to use, and mediocre DBs. Sometimes you just gotta make lemonade out of dog shit. 🤣🤣   

This mode is a great escape from the cheesy, field full of abilities, and card chasing meta that makes the game so frustrating to play every week. One or two abilities on the field and just straight up football. I love stepping back in the pocket and not seeing an unstoppable force or colossus screaming at me. Or every DB knocking the ball out. Or running away from four avalanches.

It's not fun to face dudes who have subbed their speedy WRs in at DB or whatever the latest and greatest gimmick is to exploit the horrendous game mode and beyond broken logic.  If i wanted to play a streak simulator, i'd play against the CPU.  This isn't something that should be a once or twice in a Madden calendar year type event, why not have a Draft mode that anyone can play, all year long, with constantly updated cards?  Giving players and opportunity to at least have a chance to interact with the new content without having to plunk down millions of coins each and every single week.  Doesn't improve pack sales, EA quite frankly does not give a flying fuck.

I'm basically ONLY playing Squads this late in the year.  Having such a fun time with a great trio as broken me, to the point i'm unable to play basically any other game mode, especially not some janky ass Draft shit.  But yeah, after playing against the real Snoop on Thanksgiving Eve, this was fun/funny to see again.  I'm currently 1-0 in this new event and was fortunate to get a win.
 

Yeah, I get where you’re coming from, and I think it highlights a few core problems with the current direction of the game. 

First off, it’s completely valid to be frustrated when the mode discourages players from using the teams they’ve poured time and money into. It makes no sense to spend all year building a god squad just to get thrown into a mode that ignores all of that progression.

Second, the fact that the game doesn’t function properly without abilities is a design flaw, not a feature. It shouldn’t feel like the game breaks down when you remove them — coverage logic and basic football mechanics should hold up regardless of X-factors and AP stacking. That’s a gameplay systems issue that EA just hasn’t addressed.

The meta abuse—like WRs at DB or other exploit-based strategies—is another red flag and ridiculous.

It’s unfortunate that the community's so split; Some of us empathize with those feeling burned out or disrespected, while others seem to celebrate that everyone gets knocked down to the same mediocre baseline. But that’s not balance, it’s just regression.

It’s not wrong to want your investment to matter. That’s the whole point of building a MUT squad.

exactly. no problems here if we had other options. man i absolutely LOVED Showdown. Great rewards... quick time investment. Wish it stuck around!

Except that having speedy receivers running crossers against the mollusks in the secondary isn't really "straight-up football". It's actually more video-gamey than the regular formats are, save the stupid stretch run/RPO nonsense, which also manages to find its way into Draft Mode when the opponent drafts the players for it.

If you are spamming man all game, you should get burned with crossers. Switch it up. 

Abilities are overpowered this time of the year. Especially players wtih X factors as abilities. I'm tired of loading into game and a NBA SG is breaking 5 tackles per carry and you just gotta pray your secure tackle can stop him long enough to make a gang tackle. This mode makes it easier to play.

I run almost exclusively zone. I occasionally assign man pre-snap, but those assignments aren't the ones burning me.

I mean If you want to play with your team just play all the other H2H modes 😂 It’s nice to not have every player with abilities also players that don’t spend money or have as much time can have fun and earn decent rewards. If you spent all this money and have a god squad you don’t need the rewards anyway so why even play this mode ? Only thing I wish was different about this mode is you could just pick your playbook. Especially since you will never get a chance at the ALT playbooks such as run n gun

100%  so many times I’ve got stuck with 2 qbs at least RB you can put at WR. I do wish you could just pick your own playbook would make the mode way better

You might think I'm messing with you, but I've had the Falcons and Rams playbook pop up 90% of the time.

And I'm one of those players that doesn't spend money, I used to pay for the Season Passes until EA banned me from the AH for no reason.

I'm honestly better off for it, my squad is still stacked and not a cent more to EA.

The biggest thing I’ve encountered so far. EA please FUCKING remove the way too OP players. I should not have to stop a 99 Tvondre sweat with 99 speed and tank who weighs 366 pounds with some random 90 overall DTs. I love using double me on Calvin or Julio but it’s not possible to stop with a 5’9 90 OVR CB

A lot of the runningbacks have poor route running and acceleration, so being able to put them out wide isn't a great advantage the way legitimate wide receivers with abilities can be.
