Did they nerf Vanguard this year

I have it on Kyle Long and it doesnt seem to be an OP as it was last year

Doesnt guarantee a pancake, just strong run blocking

He gets a decent amount of pancakes for me but the pancake animations aren’t as quick and dominant. It’s a slower, more realistic pancake instead of last year’s clothes line and on to the next guy.

these animations are a lot more common on TEs with it i've seen. seen many gameplays with vernon davis motion block and him just pancaking 2+ guys just running down the field getting pancakes on ppl not even in the play lol

Vanguard has been amazing for me this year especially on Vernon Davis. I did sell my Kyle long for Jonothon Ogden yesterday tho.

Nasty Streak works pretty solid. Haven't tried vanguard

If it works as it did in the past, you need players to reach a minimum speed before impact blocking mechanics kick in. The applicable threshold may be more difficult for slower linemen to reach. In addition to that, it seems that in general this year linemen get stuck on their initial blocks, so it may have more to do with how running at the line of scrimmage got badly nerfed this year.

Yeah you’re right, I have Vernon with Vanguard too and he does get better pancake animations. I love throwing to the HB underneath Vernon.
