Here’s my theory:

DDA isn’t a thing.
Now hear me out. I don’t think EA would go to the lengths to put Dynamic Difficulty Adjustments in their game. Rather, I think the game is just shit and the way it was coded is pathetic. I’ve had my fair share of games where literally everything goes my opponents way, but outside the heat of the moment I think the game itself just sucks. It is coded so bad that it can be simply miserable to watch people get rewarded for playing miserably. But I don’t think that’s DDA, I think that’s just a bad game.

Anyways, I do empathize with your annoyance. I wish that EA would take the time to make a good game instead of a dogshit one, but here we are again. Good luck fighting your opponent and your own players.

This is my take as well.

The DDA argument is tired. I’ve played this game for years and have never seen the mythical DDA. I have seen a piece of shit game every year that just doesn’t make any sense.

I will say, most if not all games I lose now are to either people that are just better than me, or somewhere along the way, I made a dumb mistake that cost me the game.

i tried but i couldnt get over there in time, it put me on my other hook instead of by corner or safety

Honestly, getting punished for an inaccurate switch stick is probably good. Cover 2 shouldn’t guard a corner consistently without it.

The fumbling is bullshit, but idk how to fix it.  Sometimes you should get them, sometimes not. I wish, in competitive mode, there was a more skill based way to fumble recover.

if my hook wasnt there it would have put me on my CB, the hook was in between my user and the CB.  my cloud had it covered but sprinted towards the middle of the field to go cover a WR that was alredy being covered.

i agree

I 💯% respect and appreciate this type of thinking. It's not that they COULDN'T, it's just EA has not demonstrated any ability to pull off even simple adjustments to the basics, such as stamina or pass catching.

Sorry to say, but three lost fumbles is hardly an indication of DDA. I'm also not saying it doesn't exist, but to use an example from this week, took us 5 forced fumbles a few evenings ago before we finally recovered one. The ball comes out a lot, it can feel impossible to actually recover one.

This game is so frustrating and we all deserve so much better for our ~hundred bucks per year.

Firm non believer in dda, its just a patchwork game based on outdated coding that gets more and more outdated by the year. Games a shitshow that's become ability based with said abilities firing off at an inconsistent rate, again due to outdated coding and half assed patchwork. Unless they decide to skip a year and rebuild from the ground up it'll always be like this and continue to get gradually worse. The current year will always continue to be the worst edition of madden

this was a rage post and the first thing I could think to blame was DDA, I do agree in how poorly coded this game is making it seem like DDA

Dont blame you, sometimes the game just doesn't go your way at all, a flukefest gets you tilted and it all goes downhill from there lol

While I do agree that part of the DDA could be tied to the game being shit, I don't fully believe there is no such thing as DDA. My biggest example is that anytime I match up with players with horrible teams (outdated cards, no abilities on certain players, etc) their team seems to play up to my team. Or my team just starts to play like ass. My pass rush suddenly can't get home, my receivers are getting bagged, my blocking is terrible. It gets to the point to where if I see a matchup like this, I just know the game is going to be a hell game.

in my experience a Cloud Flat doesn't cover DIDDLY SQUAT.  I prefer to manually set my Zone drops and turn those into Hard Flats, hoping for help covering deeper routes.  However, for a Corner, you might want to try a Curl (or even Seam Flat if you dare dabble with Match coverage).

Please school me in how YOU guys are defending deep corner routes without giving up the over the top stuff.  I'm beyond sick of how easy it is to use various pull routes to get these deep safeties to play their respective zone coverages.  My defenders will turn their hips the wrong direction and that's all it takes to get cooked for deep, over the top, one-play touchdowns.

I realize how powerful and impactful the Switch Stick can potentially be, but i'd honestly much rather have Zones that actually cover things, versus having to learn to play all eleven players on the field.  That's NOT simulation fatball.  I have enough responsibility defending my own area of the field, having to constantly spazz around the field is so counter intuitive, especially because one wrong flip of the stick results in us taking our defenders OUT of a breaking play, causing yet another colossal breakdown in coverage.

I don't know what the solution is, but Man to Man is wildly inconsistent, any halfway competent player can cook that shit.  Zones don't cover anything.  Match is far too easy to abuse.  UFF.

I play man 2 man alot, so far it's been pretty consistent with me, but when it falls  a part, my corners just stand there or runs like in the total opposite direction than the guy they supposed to defend,  this is my last madden purchase,  I will wait for it to become free on EA subscription  and play it then, it's not worth me buying it and it's still trash.. I hope they fix a lot of things, in the new one, if not I will just be a not so frequent player of a bad product..¹

I’ve had the same experience as @NickyRozay WAY too many times to believe DDA doesn’t exist.

I’ve played online long enough to easily differentiate when I’m outmatched by skill, scheme, YouTube, or luck. I don’t actually believe I’m outmatched by DDA but there are obvious times when DDA is on my opponent’s side and there have been obvious times when DDA has been on my side.

Idk if you can consider this DDA but I had a house rules run yesterday and all 6 of the games my opponent started out with the ball and getting the ball first in house rules gives you a good advantage. I am not sure if I just got unlucky or what. This has happened to me in previous house rules events too, where it seems like my opponent gets the ball first almost every game.
