So, basically I love custom ability buckets, I think they bring a really cool aspect to the game. They are almost the whole reason I play MUT. But, I have noticed that custom ability buckets have been coming later and later into the year. In 23, there were custom ability buckets on almost every card, in 24, it took a little longer, but there was still a decent amount of custom ability buckets. In 25, there were a lot less ability buckets, but at least there were still custom ability buckets. Now, there are only custom ability buckets on special cards that only last for a limited time like Game Time or NFL Rivalries. Were custom ability buckets just a experiment by EA and they failed? Or what happened because I wish we could have as many custom ability buckets as 23 or more.
The custom ability buckets sucked imo, EA just instantly determined every card they wanted to be meta, with little room for going away from it or you're undermatched. I like that all the cards as a whole are (usually) good in their own way, and not very specific cards with specific buckets end up beating out all the rest.
