With Sketch now being added to the MIT world I have one honest question.
Does anyone really, truly care about any of these content creators?
If so, who and why.

That's what I assumed.
I'm an old man, so I didn't grow up with a Smartphone or Tablet, so I don't see the draw towards these types of people.
I have two kids, age 14 and 10; they both tell me that they can't stand Speed, Aiden, Paul brothers, etc.
Yet, they keep getting forced into our viewing spaces.
To each it's own, and if you guys enjoy seeing these people take part in your viewing/gaming experience, then more power to you, but to me, its an unneeded distraction.

Spot on man! Same here. This site is my only form of social media. No Facebook twitch Instagram none of it. I'm too old school I guess. And I don't see why people are so obsessive over these influencers.

Here’s my theory:
When my kids are on YouTube or TikTok, the videos play automatically, supposedly guided by some kind of algorithm. But what I’ve noticed is that most of these autoplayed videos come from the top creators on the platform. It makes me wonder how many of those “millions of views” are actually from people who intentionally searched for that content, versus kids who left their iPads running while they went off to play with Play-Doh.
I just can’t believe that 100 million people wake up every day eager to see what IShowSpeed posted next. It feels more like the algorithm is force-feeding his videos into everyone’s feed, whether they asked for it or not. Honestly, it makes you question how much of this online popularity is genuine engagement and how much is just autoplay doing its thing.

My kids said he's just a guy, not overly popular, but not hated.
He looks like a nice kid, but all I know is what he looks like :)

Here’s my theory:
When my kids forget to turn off the dang cable box, the videos play automatically, supposedly guided by some kind of algorithm(TV Guide or something?). But what I’ve noticed is that most of these autoplayed videos come from the top studios on the platform. It makes me wonder how many of those “millions of views” are actually from people who intentionally searched for that content, versus drunk dads who just want their kids to not touch the damn remote.
I just can’t believe that 10000 million people wake up every day eager to see what Carrot Top did last night. It feels more like the algorithm is force-feeding his videos into everyone’s feed, whether they asked for it or not. Honestly, it makes you question how much of this Friends phenomenon is genuine engagement and how much is just being too lazy to change the channel doing its thing.
