Your remark about "suck at the game and don't know ball" actually couldn't be more off the mark if some of these market gurus are just trying to manage their coinstack so that they can afford the items with discounted abilities that can help them shut down the actual users that suck at the game and don't know ball, but can play a game on a script. This game has sucked since the Frozen abilities went away, and speed boosting and stretch spamming and Mid-Blitzing spamming started in earnest.

The OP needs to know the difference between “coin farming” and LTD flipping. Not saying I endorse purchasing / re-posting sought after LTD’s, as I agree it keeps the prices astronomical, but that’s not what doing farming is.

Coin farming if you look up the TOS definition of it, is when you used to have multiple accounts and you’d grind your alts and move coins to your main (typically via the trade block.) People will flip cards until MUT is no longer a thing - it’s the only way to make coin without spending money on the game. You flip, and you invest. With how poor LTD pull rates have been, especially this year, it feeds into the market setting of rare LTD’s. So EA is just as much at fault for this.

Last year, there was a user that was able to afford almost an entire lineup of 95 OVR Team Diamonds at release, getting with them some of the first discounted abilities and very fast players. That lineup cost him tens of millions more than the 40 million you said was too much.

Have you ever met a rich man that felt like he didn’t have enough? And not just always trying to make more, but anxious, urgent about squirreling away yet more money? Did you ever ask him why he felt that way? Life’s uncertainties can burn through money, even when you’ve tried to take practical steps to protect yourself. Through some crazy coincidence, MUT has a similar way of making the possession of tens of millions of coins feel tenuous.

(Never mind the fact that 40 million this year is 15 million in MUT 24 currency.)

At the end of MUT 25, I had to scrimp and scrape for enough coins to purchase most of the available late-stage Theme Team Surge/Rising Stars/Fan Appreciation Motivator Chemistry players; some of them were pegged at ten million coins. Was 40 million enough? Of course not.

As I mentioned elsewhere, if collusion and price-fixing are employed, that is indeed a major problem. But flipping cards because their Auction Price falls well below their market value is just the MUT economy doing its thing.
