Is there a way to see what types of boosts you get depending on how many players you have for your theme team?

Yes...I think if you pull up your lineup screen...go over to chemistry click on the one you want to see and then there is a button (don't remember which...but the menu tells you) to click on and it will show you what you can get at the various levels.
