Currently using 99 Paul Krause (theme team boosted) as my user on my Vikings theme team. Maxed out speed and acceleration but lacks abilities. Looking to replace him, not too concerned about price within reason, I'm not going to drop 2 million on a user. Thoughts/Advice please

I'm loving the new JOK myself .  Get it for a song and dance right now too.

I have him, I will give him a shot. I also got Buddha Baker so I moved him to safety and then moved Isaiah Simmons to user  and tried that as well. I want to like AJ hawk but he's just too slow

Derrick Henry (ROLB) or perhaps Ted Hendricks (SS), especially if you're using the ASA OOP squad, having NBA sized USER defenders is quite nice.  How much AP do you have to spend?  Micah Parsons is really fantastic, for 0AP, as well -- he can get Unstoppable Avalanche that charges up after 6 plays, but i doubt he's cheap.  I need to be able to force fumbles with my SUBLB, plus be able to zoom around the field without lumbering... which unfortunately rules out 6'10" DeFo & Peppers (LBs), they've got so much potential, but perhaps as SUBLB2, not so much a user, because of the sheer size.

Ted Hendricks, also at 6'10" has been terrific for me, but you've gotta dump at least a couple/few AP into him to truly make him shine.  Which can be difficult to justify lately.

Thank you, also been thinking about Ring of Honor Sean Taylor. Any thoughts on him? I might also give Derek Henry a shot, I'm not a big fan of the super huge guys, I know they're nice but it just feels cheesy to me

I got SS Calvin paired with Combine Micah (who ain't riding pine for me for all the reasons @peatrick mentioned). I've tested at least 8-10 other options in my mostly nickel scheme since Combine including the usual suspects from ASA and ROH and Combine Simmons had the best blend of pass coverage and run stuffing/blitzing I needed UNTIL ASA SS Calvin came along. He moves silky smooth and keeps up with crossers and receivers in the flat better than Simmons so I made the switch. And his height and catching is insane for me.... absolute pick artist. Surprisingly, Micah's made a ton of incredible picks as well especially when he drops back into the deep zones. Huge surprise. Again, YMMV but for me, these 2 have been fantastic.... just wished it worked with my TT but at this point in the year, oh well.

As an aside, I got ROH Clark up top for all his free abilities and happy with him but bored and dying for a 99 SS that'll fit the TT....  I tested SR Baker up top and in the box last night for fun and yikes.... absolute buns for me even with Reinforcement. His height was a big problem especially compared to Calvin and his pursuit at least for me was no better than Clark's.

I really wanted to love this Budda Baker, or really any of the Sugar Rush defensive cards, but they're all terrible.  I can't justify extra AP on defense for really anything outside my core scheme.  I'd love to get a third UF/Colossus on the D-line, but simply do not have the ability points for it.  Having that extra height will keep me with ASA OOP cards for the foreseeable future.  Even if we get players with all the free abilities in the entire game, they're not going to be anywhere close to seven feet tall.

LOL. I tried to add more ASA OOP based on your comments alone a few weeks back. Even picked up Ed Too Tall WR for the spin you mentioned. Just couldn’t get the pieces to work for my build but hats off to you, brother. Sounds like a helluva time which at this point in the year is what it’s all about anyway!

My favorite time of the year actually… toting the rock. I had more fun than at any point last season with Angry Runs Sweetness. Just love watching them glide through with them BTK animations.

I was a bit slow to react and respond, i was completely content with my Combine squad and was not in a rush to move off from them... however, a couple weekends back, i finally committed to it and added those OOP players.  Zero regrets, as they say... you can't teach height!

Currently running a hybrid theme team:

  • 40/50 Niners
  • 15/15 ASA OOP
  • 20/40 ASA regular (there is some overlap with OOP)
  • 20/50 Titans, to ensure T. Sweat is fully boosted to max 99 SPD, etc.

366 pounds might as well be Angry Runs.  First time this entire year i've been able to successfully tote the rock.  Run game has been a real struggle-fest this year.  I've spent weeks reworking my receiver corps, but finally settled on; Julio, Calvin & Too Tall.  Although that Randall McDaniel is also able to spin to win.  Vroom vroom.

What playbook you in on offense and which back did you choose?

I’m running 40 DAL/20 PHI and usually a 5-10 sprinkling of your 49ers each year simply for Moss cards 😂. I run the eagles O playbook simply because I started this year with it and was too lazy to learn a new one. And because of the SB boost.

As for HB I run quad. Tried Henry who was great but Quad fits the TT and just does so well for me. I tried Ant and he wasn’t as good for me as Henry and quad. Not sure why. Tried McFadden and he was NOT him. Couldn’t break the second tackle. Never tried tvondre but I hear good things and I’ve come to learn that I guess I prefer the heavier backs as they apparently get better BTK in game despite what they are on paper.

Man after my own heart.  I have also been in Phillie offense for the majority of the year, although recently i tried to adjust to the 49ers offense, in hopes of getting more of my run game going -- however, after just a couple/few short weeks in Niners offense, i'm finding myself flipping back to fEagles offense, i just miss the beloved MTN Y Post, especially in the red zone.

Any of those top four RBs are amazing; T. Sweat, King Henry, Ant or Quadfather -- anything else, well... yer probably doing it wrong.  Of all the backs, i find King Henry the most difficult to stop.  Despite my Titans stuff, i'm still sticking with big boi Sweat, for all the reasons you stated.

Ha! Yeah I noticed through this season we were taking similar approaches on both O and D. Cheers bro.

You in Viking or Patriots on defense?  I started the year with Vikes, but my squads mate suggested i consider NE, haven't looked back since making that swap.  I rely on the Tampa 2 from Even 6-1 out of Pats D on a semi-regular basis, although the majority of my time is spent in Dollar (well, Dime 1-4)... trying to get a Cover 3 Match blitz going for me, out of the Nickel 2-4 package, but that Match coverage is almost as inconsistent as Man... a simple Corner route tends to absolutely COOK it, which inevitably forces me back into Dollar formations, with the goal to keep everything underneath.  Bend, don't break, style defense -- then hope to jar the ball loose, with lucky Hit Stick.

Don't snooze on at least one Enforcer Supreme, if you're not already utilizing that ability, Avalanche alone is nowhere near as effective, especially with basically all ball carriers and skill position players (even QBs) have Tank.

Nice. I run a lot of nickel relying on my LBs to play more pass coverage and like you, stacking as much Colosus/UF upfront as possible to generate pressure into bad throws. I got Ed, Larry Allen, Poe and Barno upfront all with Col/UF to do so and spend the pennies I got left on my DBs KO’s. Without the AP I sacrifice the amount of avalanche others have but I do have it on Micah and just pray for more picks and 3-and-outs vs fumbles to get the ball back. To answer your q, I run eagles d as well as its got what I need in nickel and again, I enjoyed the SB boost when that was happening.
