Yesterday I completed the Moss and Deion sets and played a few games before receiving the notification from EA that I had been banned. I have never bought coins or broken any other terms of service to my knowledge. I am obviously incredibly frustrated. Has this happened to anybody else and what course of action should I take to get my account back?

You’re honestly just screwed. You can file an appeal but if it involved buying cards on the app or selling anything at an inflated price, they won’t overturn it. They may overturn the ban but your coins are likely gone.

Honestly makes me not even want to play the game again. Pretty unbelievable that EA bots can wrongfully ban people and then even if the ban is lifted they do nothing to make it right.
