Has anyone done the math on these sets? Also the cards come back auctionable correct? I have a ton of coins and am bored so I’m debating it.

Just for a random ltd?
Yikes Ea lazy af could of sworn it was a player to be revealed later?
considering we get that 6 mil back, get a free 97 TOTY and a LTD, all we lose is coins on tax

so rn, it probably gonna cost around 6-7 mil for defensive collection, and little less for offensive, but if you wait, the price might go back up, and so far, it doesn't said it's returned as BND so it will most likely be returned as auctionable, if you do it, do it tonight before the price spike tomorrow
if you want to minimized your tax output, best advice is to do the honorable mention between the offensive collection and defensive collection, as they get returned to you and you can use them in your 97 ovr sets

is it confirmed we get a ltd and not a different card called MVP?

from what everyone saying, we getting a LTD
If you have a shit ton of coins then it doesn’t really matter. I have a pretty good team and 10 mil and I’m likely not going to do the sets.
Here’s my thoughts on it:
Cards needed:
97 OVR TOTY (30 needed, get one free from tokens)
95 OVR TOTY (10 needed)
29 X 400k = 11.6 mil (being optimistic)
10 X 130k = 1.3 mil
Total coins spent =12.9 mil
Now if you sell all of them for the same amount that you paid you will pay roughly 1.3 mil in AH taxes. Assuming a lot of people are completing these sets I would expect the price of the MVVP’s to drop and who knows how far.
Depending on when you complete the sets and what the market does it could turn into a pretty big coin sink. If timed right I’m sure some people will make coins or break even, but I normally get the timing wrong.
Anyways if you decide to do it, good luck, I hope you make some coins!

Thanks for the breakdown sir. Sitting on about 20mil so can definitely get it done. Will have to see what the MVVP’s end up going for. If it’s just a few 100k difference between doing the sets or buying the MVVP’s outright, I’ll save myself the headache.
You're gonna lose so much coins on tax that you can rather just buy them. It's probably cheaper.
Im gonna do the ones for the 9 tokens for tj watt

Yes. I did it with Most Feared, and although I did it wrong and lost some coins, having 32-team chems Taysom Hill and Ndamukong Suh together was huge for about two months. Then I did it again with the Stocking Stuffers set. Again, helpful, and still making a modest impact in my lineup today.
I‘ll start buying TOTY’s later today after staying out of that market. I expect to break even on coins and come away with a 97 OVR TOTY BND, a 98 OVR Auctionable TOTY, and some other advantage from the completion sets I can’t remember.

From experience, I’ve learned that I can make coins on the snipes. You’ll have guys with coin stacks just big enough that they dare to complete these, but they get caught with short coin stacks partway through the process and have to sell their items low enough to recover the coins needed for the remaining sets.
Their market position and timing will work against them, and I’ll leverage that to my advantage. I’m not enjoying the game in its current state anyway, so I’ll play MUT menus for a couple days.

This could be a good idea, especially if in mid-process you find that some of the items you need on the third set spike in price.

I think this doesn't really apply here like with the TD sets. You have to complete a full set and don't get anything back til then. If people run out of coins they simply can't finish the set.

The reason I lost coins on Most Feared was not recognizing gains on sales quickly enough, and also that EA was misleading as to what was needed to complete the sets, so I bought too many items early at a price much higher than the going rate during the later releases, and didn't have many coins left when the final release made the completion sets fully accessible. I had to sell a couple LTD's to complete the final sets. Probably took my biggest loss on what the LTD's could have gone for, but I was almost there for the sets.
Guys that have five million can finish these sets if they're patient, but not too patient. When you buy the first item, you're starting the clock. There's a point where you can either snipe and resell or build sets and sell, and you really have to do both to contain costs and cover your Auction House expenses. There will be a point where the value of the MVVP will tank and not recover, but it may still be that starting later is better. That one is hard to know.
I'm around 4 million coins with set items in the binder and a Super Bowl Emmitt Smith Redux I expect will sell this morning. I know I'm not experienced enough to read what the market will be doing at 1:31 p.m. EST. I'll jump on later after the initial market churn has settled down.
