Some of the crystals have dropped significantly in price but are they worth picking up still and spending 2 to 3 mill, while better cards are dropping?

Is the Barkley crystals still worth picking up for 2-3 mil? Arguably yes.
Are the Mays crystals? Absolutely not.
The other two sets are dirt cheap so I would say do it if you have the room but roster space becomes a factor.

The first ever release (Barkley, Surtain, Parsons) are the only ones that matter. +1 speed will always be appealing but its at that point where they will be obsolete.

I agree, i will say until every player get 99 speed, i'd say the cards might actually be worth more now just because when every player is really good, that one speed can really set your team ahead

At this point, 99 SPD or as close as you can get to it matters most for defensive ends and man cornerbacks. You can play a dual team, but get that extra speed on the guys that can make a difference on the edge only if they can contain that 99 SPD quarterback or halfback.
