I was a big fan of EA's latest adjustments to Competitive Pass. As of today, I've reached the point where I can easily max out the pass without having to play anymore head-to-head. Concerning that, I am glad, as the latest matchups for me were aggravating for a variety of reasons.

EA's attempts to tweak the game don't really seem to have fixed the game-to-game experience for me. I still get idiot defensive coverage constantly, and right now it seems that between-the-tackles rushing isn't viable in the current environment. You have to win with speed now on offense, more than ever, and the difference-makers as to speed seem to be pricier than they ever been. Most of the NAT players haven't been improvements over players already on my team. It's just a bad time.

I do expect I'll spend more time in the auction house, and maybe I'll come away with better skill there. I might also pop in for a Champs game now and then. And perhaps EA's next title update will yield real improvements for the defensive AI. I'm tired of making a half-dozen adjustments on every play to combat pervasive cheese, and finding out mid-play that I threw rock when I needed scissors. Maybe a semi-hiatus will do me good.
