I've always been NMS. Not as a Badge of Honor or because it lets me feel superior over people who spend money but because I run a Theme Team and most of the time, the players I need for the team aren't anywhere near the 'best' in the game. This year, I could grind for the likes of Divine Deablo and wait a few weeks when the inevitable TOTY Brock Bowers dropped. Even if I did want to spend money, there seemed little point. As to buying the pass? That seemed daft but again that was a lot to do with the lack of any Raiders players in the rewards. S1 Max Crosby was easily upgradable without spending money.
TBH, I'm not sure what the 'best' players are anyway? This game is very scripted and animation-heavy and I'm fairly sure that there's some weighting in games that predetermines the outcome at least some of the time, so paying any money to get a 'better' team seems foolish. To those that do, I say have at it, if its your thing.
There are plenty of peeps that will spend money and hawk the AH, do all challenges etc. Just spending money doesn't get you all the way. But it deff helps field a team a lot quicker for sure.
This year I just need to wait and be patient much more. Play near the middle of a program release, where card prices have normalized. Sell off any big hits immediately. Sell off players a lot sooner than I did in 25.
Where EA gets you is you want to compete in h2h and be at or ahead of the curve. To do this when new program hits is very expensive. If you are able to wait to compete, it is much cheaper.
This start to MUT, tho, I am not so interested in the starting ratings. I would honestly rather play regs to start. So I will keep up to date on programs through solo, then h2h regs, then h2h MUT once the playing field is more even.
It is fun to find the good commons/cores tho. Like Worthy last year, his 75 OVR had great speed at 86 so he was a weapon. was going for like ~70-100k when somewhat normailzied. So it can be fun in some ways for sure, but I think regs will just be a better starting experience.
