there’s a lot of xp in the programs, plus daily objectives you’ll have him by the end of the season.

Yes you will. Just make sure, amongst other things that you're doing your dailies (3k XP a day adds up and should never be ignored), and that you're reaching at least Level 19 in the Comp Pass every fortnight.
