I don't care how other people spend their money but I will never understand why people would spend real money on packs. $50 is almost the cost of the game and people will spend it to hope they get one card, it really is crazy.

I understand your thought process, but people (me) don't have the will power you do lol... I've spent more money than I care to share since I started playing MUT a few years ago... This game is a hobby for a lot of us and a lot of people that spend money on packs subconsciously do it cause they feed their hobby... Same concept as buying a new set of expensive golf clubs... Whats the point if you're not a pro? Well, to make your hobby more enjoyable... Simple.
I'm jealous you've refrained from spending money on the game... I really am lol.. I end up regretting doing so most of the time... Like Blitz? Shoot... Biggest waste of money. Terrible release of a bunch of unrecognizable players and none were in packs apparently...

At least with most hobbies like golf you can have those clubs for a very long time. People spend a crazy amount on this game and the cards are 100% worthless in a couple of weeks. THat being said if it makes you happy than go for it.

Unless I'm wrong...no one is making us buy any packs. So if someone thought the pack you reference is worth $50...then good on them. When I see packs that don't guarantee me something (so I know at a minimum what I'm getting) I don't buy them.

Can I get them green fees back? What about them ProV1 balls I sunk in the water hazard? As an avid golfer I can assure you...MUT is significantly less expensive than my golf hobby.

'Regret' is the key word. Buying digital packs/cards/etc. is similar to gambling, without the actual monetary payout. It's just feeding that gambling addiction, and it's very easy to make the transaction.
EA is constantly in legal battles because of the 'gambling' tendency of their MUT, FUT, and even Star Wars. Minors get caught up in it and I'm sure it creates problems in many of their lives. Adults at least know, or should know...
EA devs spend more time/money creating addictive pack opening animations and field passes that keep the users connected to their game, than they spend on actually fixing/updating the gameplay. These games are literally created to take advantage of addictive personalities, simple micro transactions everywhere that feed the addiction.
The more customers who can quit the addiction 'cold turkey', the better off we all are in the end. Either we finally get another NFL 2k game in a couple years or EA has to listen to the players and put time into fixing the gameplay.
