Due to recent updates to Twitter's API policy, we are encouraging all users who only use Twitter to log into MUT.GG to add an alternative social account or set a password for your MUT.GG account if you did not set one originally. Currently, if Twitter's API has issues or we have trouble communicating with it, you will be unable to log into your account. Adding another login method will help you still sign into the site in case the Twitter sign-in fails. Here are steps on how to add a new social login method and/or set a password:
How to Link a New Social Account
In addition to Twitter, Discord and Twitch are available to use for signing into MUT.GG as well. To link one of these methods, click here or follow these steps:
- Click your site avatar and select "Account".
- Under Account Connections, select "Manage".
- Click "Sign in with Discord" or "Sign in with Twitch" and if you're already signed into the social account, the link will be established. If you are not currently signed in, sign in to Twitter or Discord and the link will then be created.
How to Set a Password
If you created your MUT.GG account using a social application, there's a chance you never set a password. While signing in using Discord, Twitch, or Twitter may be the most convenient method for you, setting a password for your account is the most reliable. To set a password, click here or follow these steps:
- Click your site avatar and select "Account".
- Make sure you have access to the email address registered to your GG profile under "Account".
- Sign out of your MUT.GG account.
- Go to the MUT.GG sign-in page and select "Forgot Password?"
- Enter the email address from Step #2 and an email will be sent to the address that allows you to set a password.
