Why are all of my passes to my TE only terribly high lob passes? No matter how I press X on my PS5.

I just purchased a PS5 and have been playing Madden on my PS4. Why are all of my passes to my TE only when I am trying to drill it becoming ballon passes no matter which route I chose no matter how hard or soft I press X. It’s a balloon pass can someone please help me? I can’t enjoy the game not being able to thro to my TE.
