6-1 Defense Counter?

I’ve been playing All Madden seasons for about a month now and everytime I get in the playoffs or Super Bowl, I get matched up with someone running this insane defense where I literally have 2 seconds To throw the ball before I’m sacked. this formation is very popular on YouTube and TikTok but I can’t seem to find tips on how to counter it. im not into meta plays so its a bit frustrating when I play some who runs the same defense blitz and offense play the entire game. Now that I’m done venting does anyone has tips on formations, playbooks, routes, adjustments to count this defense formation?

Generally when i go up against things that drive me nuts, i will Go into practice mode against that defense and start adjusting my line to shift one way or the other, also ID the mike on what DB/LB is being blitzed consistently, you can also double team certain defenders.   Just start trying to figure out the best way to adjust to that blitz, so that it isn't coming in clean every single time.  For you to go against that defense in practice mode you gotta have that as your D playbook, a defense that has that 6-1 in it is chiefs playbook. I am sure its in quite a few other books, but thats a good place to start.       

Also, hopefully someone will chime in w/  the adjustments that work the best against 6-1 blitz's, but still you gotta get used to doing the adjustments at the line, practice mode works great for that.

Pihcam has given some advice on this in one of the other posts a few spots down in the feed, RPO's usually work well against 6-1 since so many players are lined up inside the tackles, it's hard to get enough bodies to the outside to deal with it. Also, if you find a way to shift your line or leave an extra blocker in, usually the deep crossers are wide open if you can get the ball off.

Well what playbook do you run? 61 is a very condensed formation, so RPOS to the outside are a great way to attack it. I like running the very meta eagles/colts playbook (they are the same), where i audible from bunch offset (best passing formation in the game imo) to:

Bunch str nasty (RPO Read Bubble) (Y trail)

Trips te offset (RPO Alert Screen) (Verticals)

Trips te offset wk (RPO Read Bubble) (Verticals)

All of these formations have good passing plays combined with the rpos stated above which very easily attack 61. It is hard to go in depth about WHY read rpos work so well, but at a surface level the read key will always run towards the qb. This way, if a defender in a hard flat is the read key, they will take a step towards the rpo but then run at the qb.

If you are getting blitzed at by 61, it potentially is cover 0. The plays i stated correlating with the formations are one play touchdowns vs man if you get enough time. The Y trail post is the best man beating route in the game (Watch Henry vs Dubby MCS ultimate kickoff game, henry ran it tons of times to bomb c0). The deep crosser from the trips sets absolutely cook man as well.

Based on the way you worded this post, respectfully, you don't seem to run the meta or understand the game in depth, which is totally ok! CIvil.gg, for a cheap price, can help you totally understand it, and you will see a MASSIVE increase in your wins online. As a civil.gg subscriber who originally subscribed sometime in madden 22 with nearly no knowledge of the game and running coach suggestions, to now being a top ~100-200 player in the world (based on MCS and smaller tournaments), i can not recommend it enough.

Appreciate this! I am familiar with meta offenses and MUT in depth. I actually ran the eagles playbook and Multiple defense back this fall but I’ve to a standstill then decided to just play based on pure IQ and utilizing features like IDing the Mike on offense, shading DBs, abilites for my defense scheme etc. but the 6-1 would be get me everytime dollar Meta defense is fairly simple for score on depending on who I play.

I watch dubby on YouTub. overall I have to accept that you need to match meta with meta to make it far in mut. I’ve switched to 50/50 steeelrs theme team and have a man scheme that is really successful with shading and help over top, i have passtronaut and vick, both 94+ speed so I may need to switch back to a eagles verticals  defense based on their skills.
