I feel like it matters more on defense, trying to match up in Man Coverage and in Zone reactions. This is purely my own opinion, no scientific facts.

A 2 pt lead literally isn’t better than a 1 pt lead when a field goal gets 3 pts. It’s cool if you just always go for 2 but I don’t see how 2 pts would benefit…
