Besides the obvious benefit of training boosts, you only get STT player cards for maxing out your training.  They got rid of the mastery bonus this year.

That's a good question for the Madden Mobile developers.  I'm not sure anyone here will be able to give an answer for that.  Other than "that's just how it is".
