Core Elite players are generally some of the very best in the game at launch. As the MUT season progresses, you tend to see fewer and fewer Core Elite players in MUT lineups.

However, just because they're not the best players at their position later in the year, doesn't mean they have no value. Core Elite players are required to upgrade Power Up player items which are dominant all year long.
