Hey again Madden fans! This week’s top 10 list focuses on the best HBs in Madden Ultimate Team:
Top 10 HBs in MUT 23
1. 91 OVR Eric Dickerson
Dickerson is the obvious choice as the best HB in Madden Ultimate Team. He’s the fastest running back in the game and he doesn’t really have a weakness. He can make the defender miss or just run through him with his 90 trucking. He also gets Bruiser or RB Apprentice for 2 AP each.
2. 91 OVR LaDainian Tomlinson
LT is a close second. He’s a great elusive back and he's a solid pass-catcher as well. He also has several options for ability discounts if you power him all the way up: Juke Box (1 AP), Leap Frog (2 AP), RB Apprentice (2 AP), Short In Elite (1 AP).
3. 90 OVR Beast Mode
Beast Mode is another great option at HB and he’s about half the price of Dickerson and Tomlinson. He has great speed (90) and the best trucking rating in the game (92 TRK). He also gets Bulldozer for just 1 AP and he surprisingly gets Short In Elite for 1 AP as well.
4. 90 OVR Christian McCaffrey
CMC is basically a WR at HB. If your scheme involves a lot of passes to your running back out of the backfield, McCaffrey might be the man for the job. In addition to great receiving ratings, he also gets RB Apprentice for 2 AP or Short In Elite for 1 AP.
5. 90 OVR Ricky Williams
He came out a month ago, and Ricky is still one of the best HBs in the game. He’s a little slower than the top guys on this list (88 SPD), but he’s very well-rounded. Since he’s a limited edition item, he quicksells for 350,000 coins. If you pick him up now, you can guarantee his value will never drop below that amount.
6. 90 OVR Saquon Barkley
Saquon only has 85 trucking compared to Ricky’s 90 and he doesn’t get Legends chemistry, but other than that, these two HBs are very comparable. Saquon also gets Juke Box for 1 AP or Short In Elite for 1 AP as well.
7. 88 OVR Cordarrelle Patterson
Patterson is by far the best budget HB on this list. He’s free just for grinding the Gridiron Guardians field pass. He definitely has some weaknesses, but he’s still a great option for your backfield with some of the best receiving ratings at his position (83 CTH, 85 SRR, 80 MRR).
8. 89 OVR Jerome Bettis
While Bettis doesn’t have top end speed, he’s a decent power back, especially for the price. He’s selling for around 200k on all platforms. Bettis has 89 trucking and 87 break tackle which make him a great downhill runner.
9. 87 OVR DeMarco Murray
Murray is another great budget option at HB that can do a little bit of everything. At under 100k, he’s definitely worth considering for anyone playing without spending money or anyone new to MUT.
10. 89 OVR Joe MIxon
Mixon was the best HB in the game at launch, and he’s still holding on to a top 10 spot. He’s slower than everyone else on this list other than Bettis, but other than that, he has respectable ratings across the board.
