Top Madden 25 Season 4 Field Pass Players You Need on Your Team
It's always hard to pick which Season Pass player you want to upgrade first. Players like Stefon Diggs and Nick Bosa look great at first glance, but I think Quincy Williams, Christian McCaffrey, and Ed McCaffrey are the best of this season. Each brings something special to the game, whether it’s dominating on defense, creating versatility on offense, or countering hit-stick spammers.
Here’s why I think these three players stand out the most this season.
1. Quincy Williams (ROLB)
For me, defense is all about deception. One of my favorite things in Madden is to disguise my coverage to throw off my opponent’s reads. Nothing feels better than watching them think their quick slant or checkdown is wide open, only to have my defender sitting right there for an easy pick. That’s why Quincy Williams (with his 1-AP Lurk Artist ability) is my favorite pick from the Season 4 Field Pass—he’s perfect for those who love to mix up their defense and keep their opponent guessing.
Here’s my favorite way to use him:
- Move Him to DE: Put Quincy on the line where your opponent expects a pass-rusher.
- Drop Him Into Coverage: Before the ball snaps, set him to drop into a hard flat or seam flat instead of rushing. Most players don’t expect this and assume the flats or slants are wide open.
- The Bait: Quincy’s speed and Lurk Artist ability allow him to cover ground that typical DEs simply can’t. Opposing QBs think they’ve got a quick read to their slant or checkdown, but Quincy is sitting there, ready to pick it off.
- Blitz: Sending a blitz from the opposite side of the field can hurry your opponent into a quicker decision while ensuring you still have 4 pass rushers to apply pressure.
This works best against players who rely on quick, safe throws. By mixing up your defense, you force them into mistakes and steal possessions. Quincy’s speed and versatility make him perfect for this role.
2. Christian McCaffrey (RB)
He may not have a backward juke animation, but Christian McCaffrey is the guy if you’re looking for an offensive player who can do it all. I know we have a lot of REALLY good RBs in the game. But Christian McCaffrey has a great combo of being fast, agile, and great hands, making him a threat in both the running and passing game.
Why He’s a Great Pick:
- Speed and Agility: He’s quick and changes direction easily, making him dangerous in the open field.
- Reliable Receiver: McCaffrey’s great for routes like flats, wheels, and Texas. His Sideline Catch trait makes him even more reliable near the boundary.
- Traits for Days: Clutch, doesn’t drop open passes, fights for extra yards, and has a high motor. Basically, he’s dependable in every situation.
Why Choose Christian McCaffrey:
If you need a versatile back who can handle any situation, McCaffrey is the obvious choice. He’s not flashy, but he’s dependable and fits seamlessly into any offense.
3. Ed McCaffrey (WR)
Ed McCaffrey is another great offensive option, especially if you’re tired of defenders spamming hit sticks. At 94 OVR, he gets the Tank ability, which lets him break hit-stick tackles. A lot of players can't stop themselves going for the big hit, and Ed can turn those into huge gains.
Why Tank Is a Big Deal:
- Breaks Hit Sticks: Hit sticks are everywhere in Madden this year, and Ed is one of the few players who can shrug them off like they’re nothing.
- Extra Yards After Contact: With Tank, Ed turns short gains into big plays by punishing reckless defenders.
- Solid Receiver: He’s not just about Tank. Ed also has every WR trait you could ask for: Clutch, High Motor, and doesn't drop open passes.
- Free vs. ALL of your coins: Currently, the only other WR with the Tank ability is 95 OVR Team Diamond Andre Johnson. (We won't talk about his price)
Why Choose Ed:
If you’re looking for a receiver who can counter overly aggressive players and pick up tough yards, Ed is a great pick.
Final Thoughts:
The other players to choose from aren't bad either. And your play style and/or theme team will also play a part in your decision. For me, Quincy Williams, Christian McCaffrey, and Ed McCaffrey bring the most value. Quincy’s disguised coverage will frustrate your opponents and rack up picks. Christian’s versatility makes him a great free option for balanced offenses, and Ed’s Tank ability punishes hit-stick spammers in the best way possible.
