Now that we've covered what the Ultimate Captain Evo is and how it works in our FAQ, the next question is an obvious one: Who should you choose as your Ultimate Captain?
We've put together five recommendations for each of the 32 NFL Theme Teams based on builds we've seen from members of the MUT community, along with a few players we think have especially intriguing Ultimate Captain potential. Your Ultimate Captain can always be changed later for a small cost, so feel free to experiment a little!
When searching for the best options, we prioritized WRs, TEs, and DBs while considering the following:
- Height
- Speed
- Theme Team positional needs
- Likelihood of receiving future upgrades
- Multiple Team Chemistries
Height and speed are especially valuable at the positions we're prioritizing. Filling a position of need on your Theme Team is another important consideration, particularly when choosing a player who may not receive frequent upgrades naturally. In those cases, the Ultimate Captain Evo can keep an otherwise overlooked player relevant throughout the year.
Multiple Team Chemistries are also a nice bonus, giving you more flexibility with roster construction if you eventually switch Theme Teams or build a Hybrid Theme Team.

Ultimately, there really isn't a wrong choice for your Ultimate Captain, especially once they're fully upgraded. Our recommendations are meant to help you find players with some of the most interesting builds and long-term potential, but there's nothing wrong with going in a completely different direction. If your favorite NFL player is a fullback and that's who you want to choose, don't let anyone stop you.
