#1 - Is Tip Drill or Lurker better in throw out of sack situations?
Answer:
Neither Tip Drill nor Lurker is the ideal ability for getting defensive line interceptions, especially on throw-out-of-sack animations. But if you’re deciding between the two, Tip Drill is the better option. Lurker is meant for improving interception animations on users or lurking defenders —so it doesn’t really help in the situations we’re targeting.
If you're looking for the best ability to increase your chances of a D-lineman picking off a throw-out-of-sack, go with Lurk Artist or Pick Artist. Both improve your defender’s ability to hang onto the ball when it hits your hands, giving you a much better shot at converting those plays into game-changing turnovers.
#2 - Do offensive line adjustments help in the run game?
Answer:
Offensive line adjustments have very little impact on the run game. The one exception is when you're trying to neutralize abilities like Inside Stuff or No Outsiders — in those cases, using the double team mechanic on the defender with the ability will shut it off for that play.
As for getting your offensive line to actually block better or target specific defenders in the run game? Adjustments like shifting the line, IDing the Mike, or setting double teams won’t change how your linemen block. That’s because run blocking is governed by preset targeting rules, based on the run concept and the defensive front — not your manual adjustments.
So, if someone claims that line shifts or IDing the Mike improves run-blocking logic, that’s just not true. We break it all down and show exactly why in the video.
#3 - Does Post Up shut down Unstoppable Force and Colossus?
Answer:
Post Up can be a big asset when dealing with dominant pass rush abilities like Unstoppable Force or Colossus. It helps your offensive linemen win consistently on double-team blocks, which is especially important against these elite pass-rush abilities.
That said, when it comes to Unstoppable Force, you actually don’t need any abilities to shut it down — a standard double team from any two players will neutralize it. However, Colossus is different. It requires Post Up to consistently win with a double team.
We show exactly how and why this works in thevideo — so make sure to check it out if you're struggling to block these types of defenders.
If you have questions like this you'd like answered in a live setting, we have a stage setup in the MutGG discord titled "Ask Huddle" where we'll be on Tuesdays at 9pm EST.
