ROH sets are gone completely as of this morning and ALL TOTY sets are set to expire in 2 days.

Add NFL Combine to the list of sets due to expire also.

Yeah I saw that but it looks like the champion set will not be expiring.
ROH sets are all gone and it appears TOTY sets will all be gone.

?!!
The inconsistency with which sets are expired is so silly. I wish I had known about this. I probably will not be running RoH players in Season 8 (apart from the inductees), but these sets were off-and-on coinmakers.
This is one of the reasons I won’t be back in 27. For a game mode like MUT, that commands so much time and ask for so much money, EA certainly does not communicate nearly enough. They don’t explain how things work.
At first it is kind of unique, like a true Wild West feeling in a time where everyone knows everything about a game within a few hours when it comes out. MUT is not like this at all. And in the end everything is not known.
But I’ve had my fill of that, it was actually one of the reasons I keep playing, because it’s just refreshing to be playing a video game where there are surprises. I no longer need that, I’ve found MUT to be a mode where you WANT to know how things work exactly, so you know you make the right decisions as much as possible.
But EA seems to arbitrarily make decisions that shake things up a bit too much, they make you guess and the make you question. Whether that’s currency conversion ratios, when sets expire, how abilities actually work, or what cards / programs will contain, what boosts they get, what kind of power will be added that will expire. I don’t wanna deal with it anymore, and I’ve seen it enough in 25 and now 26. Not for me.
edit: Also if I had to guess, ROH was printing coins so they just tore it out no notice. I made a crap ton of coins on ROH sets or flipping. They recently crashed a bit, certainly because of th 21st changing abilities, but they would have been still good to snipe and flip or make sets. And of course EA needs to control that, just another reason I’m not interested in 27. They are more controlling and more aggressive about making sure you get your coins from spending money and I’m sure 27 will be even worse in that regard.
Edit 2: I am extremely confident that 27 will truly prop up the whales and their spending correlating into winning more games. You can overcome this easily in 26. Whales can suck really bad with god teams. I do believe that will not be the case in 27, you’ll see much more pronounced power being bought and mechanics to allow the whales to suck but still have a gigantic advantage. Just IMO.

All the Free Agency sets, except for the Champion set, are also going to expire when this Season ends.
wtf i thought they would just consolidate them into 1 set

Agreed, I found out the hard way. I saw the ROH 95’a at 60k each and bought 16 of them to build the 98’s. Went to sets and they’re gone. I built some of the 98’s yesterday and didn’t think to check for a timer. The ROH field pass will still be active for roughly another month and one of the objectives is completing sets so I can’t understand why the sets would be removed this early.

Thank you, I forgot to check that one!

I agree with everything here except for the Edit 2. While you are likely correct that spending real $$$ in 27 will continue giving whales an advantage I have always been able to compete in H2H with budget options. Unless they completely remove the auction house there should still be some decent budget options.

True, I just think we will see more of the crystal like releases, early in the cycle, and we will see power that can only be bought via the store, bnd perhaps, so coins are useless for it. I just have a feeling.

This is agree with, it absolutely seems to be going in that direction.
