Just because its not a good endgame doesn't mean it isnt endgame.
Anything after the SB is just endgame fluff until next season.
You could go another route and say endgame starts when they start releasing 99's, which is another threshold we've already crossed.

It feels like endgame for some. For example, the players with built on abilities such as TooTall, and SS Carmichal have endgame-ish abilities and also have 2 X-factors which I expect GTs to have 2-3 baked on XFs.
Legit I played against someone who have Avalanche on EVERY player except like 2 or 3, and I was so stressed about making a mistake about taking a hit when i shouldn't. Sweatiest game of my life tbh, but somehow won, and completly felt like a endgame level team going against a current average team.

Nah they delaying the real end game with all these abilities/xfactors that expire each season. We are somewhat entering end game currently w all the current ltds getting passive xfactors but they are kinda nerfed costing 4/12ap. They are gonna start unloading the real op stuff in s8. They are trying hard to sell packs into june giving people a reason to move on from past promos cards that constantly get nerfed each season.

Other then abilities...yes (or really close) to end game. The vast majority of my impact players are 99 (chemed up) and all of the skill positions are 99 speed. So sure there will be some "better" cards that come out with free abilities, but not anything I would work hard to obtain. My hope is the Golden Tickets will be fun upgrades so I'll hold on for that...if not...just waiting around for RP. Now having said all that...I'm still enjoying the game for both solos and H2H
