The program isn't AKA anymore. It's Collector's Series. The AKA theme was just one season of the Collector's Series program.

The hell are you on about. The last 'series' of the collector series promo was AKA. It was about all about nicknames. It ended a week ago so shouldn't be that far gone from memory.

Oh man, lot to unpack here.  Sadly, EA gives zero fucks.  They're just lazily and sloppily re-using content from prior years, bastardizing the cards/players in the process... try not to think too much about it, just buy more packs.  We're all the assholes for taking these chumps seriously.  It's appalling to me that folks play this objectively not good game for actual money.  In a competitive H2H scenario.

There are so many issues here, that the poor ability from EA to get content that makes any damn sense and is relevant to the flavor of the week / current promotion, welp... guess these things are low on my list.  But we're all so broken from being abused by our EA overlords for years and years, we've lost the ability to envision what a decent, online, competitive, balanced, fair and hopefully FUN fatball simulation game even looks liek.  I assure you that it does not contain any pay to win game mechanics.  Sell us uniform packs or customizations for our players in-game.  The Fortnite model.  Although, those games tend to be free.  Everything is so beyond broken and backwards.  What the fuck are any of us still doing here -- myself included?

Oh right, everything about the NFL is a giant monopoly.

Why call it hometown heroes?  Just call it random players who boost Theme teams

To be a "hometown hero" you should have played for your team for at least 10 years...so many options to chose from

Tillman, Will Shields and Howie Long were good picks

No idea about the Jacksonville guy - hes only been in the league for 4 years

At this point the promo doesn't matter. They just release X player in X promo because they might give the Saudis better numbers. Madden has become one of the many things ruined by AI slop. I bet you if I asked ChatGPT to name some NFL "hometown heroes", it would spout out something similar to this.

Honestly my issue isn't even the promos. It's the gameplay, which isn't even a "simulation", whatever that means. Every single week there's a new gamebreaking bug that the pros use and EA most likely endorses. Just look at this new bug, hiding your linebacker behind a DT or something? The fact that that works should show you EA's inability to code a game.

If only people had enough courage to actually, properly boycott a game.
