Annoyance factor would rise 10x. I typically can't be bothered sitting around waiting for auctions to countdown then have to deal with the one guy (who always shows up at the end) who increments bids in the last 10 seconds. I've seen auctions in years past start at minimum and finish with 500+ bids...what an enormous waste of time for all involved.
EA already spoon-feeds the player base enough by showing the last four sales prices when selling any card. If players list below those rates 90% of the time, they honestly DESERVE to lose coins.
One solution is for EA to ban the YouTubers who are advertising the coin and snipe sites. There's at least one of them on the first page of the Leaderboard who doesn't even bother to change their gamertag. Any EA employee could spend half a day matching the top YouTube channels (who advertise coin/snipe sites) and Leaderboards and solve a significant part of the core issue OP is referring to, but instead they are lazy and have bots randomly ban people on price volatility instead.
