Do we genuinely like abilities? Do you also think the game becomes unplayable and not fun as soon as EA gives guys overpowered abilities in April and May? I feel like it becomes unplayable and I miss getting 99 overalls, playing when golden tickets are around, etc. I am a competitive player and have been near top 100 almost every season since last year. I miss the Madden 19, 20, and some of 21s playstyles where it was rare to get good abilities: you had to have a unique archetype or be a golden ticket. I miss when the name of the player and the stats meant more than anything else. Alongside this, 32 team chem players and crystals have made the game out of hand too early. The idea of crystals is great in my mind, even behind a paywall for pay to win players, but +1 speed is too much and makes the names unusable as the year progresses. The events this year have been excellent in my mind- each week having a new h2h or solo seasons reward to give a new mode option. I feel like the entire year was wasted by strat items, chems, and most importantly, abilities. Am I going crazy or do other people agree?
Are abilities good?
Abilites are fine, X factors need to go
My first Madden was Madden 22, and there were some broken abilities that year. I like the idea of them, though. I think it's cool that it makes them feel almost like superheroes, but that being said, "when everyone's super, no one is." I like the early Madden where you have to think about which abilities to use, where to put AP, etc. Once it gets to the point where every player has 3+ abilities for free, it just gets stale. I like crystals; it would be cool if there were more diversity to them, almost like strategy items, but for players. I remember with AKA a couple of years ago, the online, instead of getting x-factors, they added small buffs, which I thought was pretty cool. I think an interesting idea would be to give players certain abilities depending on position. I also feel like there was to many 32-team chem players. In years past, I would really have to work to keep a TT running, and now I think a solid half of the team never played for the Eagles. I understand you don't want to make certain teams too powerful with certain things, like the LTD Kenneth Walker. If he only had Seahawks chem, that would boost them too much, and everyone would just play Seahawks. There's a really fine line, and I'll be interested to see what other people have to say.

Do you think knockouts are necessary too? I feel like the older Zoned Out or Universal Coverage- ball hawk from cfb but for man and zone- are a little less game breaking but how do you and others feel?
Abilities should be like Madden 23, endgame has one or two discounted abilities per player.
For a comparison:
HB Daniel Faalele Golden Ticket- Madden 23
HB Daniel Faalele Golden Ticket - Madden 25
Also, I feel like the game was best when there was a legendary promo alongside the weekly promos, like NFL 100 or The 50, Cover Athletes, etc. MUT 10 was great too. What could that promo be next year that really makes the weekly content more exciting?
I hated them when they first came out. I refused to use them. I def use them now lol. I think there ok but takes time to dial them in. Was really nice when we didnt have them tho, those were the dayz

Uni is good for this game because of how bad defense is
The main X factors that need to go is UF, freight train, and avalanche(and i guess mind reader and Omaha but they haven’t been introduced yet)
I hate them......way too unbalanced and the game turns into an arcade trash Pokemon dragonball z avengers mess
EA has ruined the game with abilities....they did the same with EA FC smh if cards don't get certain abilities (now with discounts) that fit the META they are useless, period. god damn shame what they have done to this game. slap on abilities and let the CPU make plays for ya smh trash

you are exactly what's wrong with the game smh....what are you, 12? you want superheroes go play marvel rivals
This is a topic again…
Year after year…
Abilities are not leaving.
Stop complaining. They create profit, push metas, and balance the game.
“The issue is the lack of ap balancing.”
The game has A LOT of problems. Abilities is one of the biggest. There is no way these guys should have 6- 0ap buckets. Just make the cards play to their abilities without all the nonsense.
how is anything going to change when people are funding this idea and its profitable to EA?

It will only get worse.
