I disagree. I think two things that stand out in this thread are:

• There are users that motivate the market in a direction because of the volumes of high-end stuff they move
• There are principles that consistently make you coins if you understand them

The problem here is that the moment someone says, "Do X," everyone starts doing X, and it becomes unprofitable. So you do have to understand how things work to see the opportunities before your competition does. The principles are discussed here regularly, and if you're missing them, you either need to read more carefully, or you need to refine how you apply the things explained. For all of the ways in which Madden differs utterly from real-life football, the MUT market fairly mirrors the western free market, occasionally questionable regulation inclusive.

It depends, right? Some current champions are cheaper to buy outright than to build (usually because they're undesirable to the broader market for some reason). Sometimes you can successfully snipe and flip a champion or LTD, but there's a lot of competition there, so it comes down to opportunity and time.

Personally, I like to build sets for players I would want in my lineup, and I list them high on the Auction House when I've ended a gaming session. If I get stuck with them, I won't be upset, and if they sell, the time-to-profit ratio is excellent.

I spent a couple hundred on the game and was smart with how I bought/sold players. Then I used a good team to win like 20 super bowls and win the ZC event like 10x. I justify my purchases by saying that I can sell all my coins rn for just barely under what I paid for points

Not a short answer.

 Know the ups and downs/cycles of the markets and sets.

  For instance, next week NFL Combine promo is coming.   Last yr they were 96 overall requiring 2 any 93 cards.  Conbine cards are really good and will likely be in high demand.

  93's will dip down on the weekend as packs are open and Genki player sets aren't being completed.

    I'd set a target price of less than 85k per 93.  (I think they will go to 130ish k Thursday)   If your coinstack is low DON'T GO ALL IN ON ANYTHING.

   I bought 100 , 93 ovr genki players when they dipped to 85k earlier this week.  I sold them for 140-145k today.  45k profit per card after tax.

   AKA/CS cards prep for Monday.  Those cards skyrocket in price.  Once again they will be 96's and need 93 CS/AKA to make the set.

  If you have a smaller coin stack.  Prepping smaller sets in Flashbacks has made people tons of coins but that has dried up.  I'd wait for 2 weeks from now when Flashbacks go to 97 overall.  You'll need 2 x 89 and 86's.  (Any)

   I have over 40 million coins but some people I know are well over 100 mill.

Winning games is the best way to make coin

I was trying to do this too but it keeps disconnecting me after a few games and then I have to start the whole run over again. I don’t understand why they count disconnecting as a loss on CPU events

Don’t buy packs.. build sets.. flip cards

I've tried different types of investments but by far the most consistent is buying the Hero cards that will make up the bulk of sets before an OVR increase when they are cheap, usually in the 60k-85k range (this is generalizing but I feel like no matter the time of the year that's always a good price for set pieces).  Once the OVR bump happens you have the cards everyone needs to complete sets, and you can either make sets and sell the Champs or sell the individual Hero pieces depending on what's more profitable.   You do have to pay attention and jump on it when the prices are low.  Usually after some type of store offer that targets those cards.

For example everything is based on 93s right now that Champs are 96s.  So we are waiting until 94 cards a buyable at that 60k-85k range, and those cards will go up once the Champ OVR becomes 97 and all the sets need 94s...

I was at ~5M for a long time but now am over 30M, with both speed Crystal sets, KW and gronk.

Made over 25M off the stocking stuffers. About a week before the set to build them expired I built around ~250 and just left them as packs for a week. Been selling them off since. 

Was around ~20k to build per pack and I’m selling them for 140-210k per.
