Coin spending question from a new guy

Looking for some general advice as I am somewhat new to this game but I enjoy hanging  out with my 12 year old son while he plays. 
I’ve taught him to be disciplined with coins, so we’ve accumulated about 10 million now and we love the 49ers. 
My question: is it worth it to just bite the bullet and spend around 4.5 million coins on Jerry Rice? Or is it an absolute waste of coins? Will he be great for a few weeks and then left in the dust by the new cards that come out?

I know that part of this is just a matter of choice but I would love to get the perspective of folks who have been playing this for a while. 
I don’t want to waste coins but I also don’t want to be left with millions at the end of the season.

Enjoy the game, especially with your son. Cards drop in value all the time, and tbh the best way to approach this game is to find whatever fun you can manufacture out of this game. You mention not wanting to have coins left over, so just buy Jerry and enjoy. Me, personally I get caught up in the “fear of not having enough coin for when xy or z comes out”, and it puts me in a weird bind kinda for zero reason other than my own. 

TLDR- eff the bs buy Jerry enjoy the game with your son.

Yes there will be a lot of crazy cards in a months time crashing jerry even more but i think he will stay at atleast 2 mil for a good amount of time. Enjoy the game/cards now while its still very active imo. Lame saving coins for any later when there will be very short time of content left.

(Also if you plan on playing next year its advised to keep about 10 mil by june to do rookie premiere sets and get bonus cards to start mut 27.)

Spend coins now..

You dont want to be stuck with 10 milly coins in April...when 99 OVR cards with every abilities are 300k and you have nothing to spend on

We are getting massive content this week, an OVR increase and Ultimate Legends

I would assume Jerry drops in price over the next few days, so if you can wait until Saturday, that would be ideal

MUT is a dopamine factory. Today’s must-have cards get replaced fast—Honors, TOTY, Combine, etc.

Jerry Rice will be elite for a few weeks, but history says his price will drop hard as new promos roll out. Spending 4.5M now is paying a premium for being early.

My rule has always been to set a max price per card and focus on value, not hype. Personally, I won’t touch Rice until he’s under 1M.

You won’t end the year “wasting” coins. EA will give you plenty of chances to spend them later. Patience usually wins in MUT.

Patience is almost always rewarded when it comes to buying cards. I used to have the feeling that I was OK paying high cost for a card I really wanted, because I felt certain cards make the game worth playing. And they do to an extent of course, its just that if you are willing to wait even a day or two after release, you have a much better idea of the cards true worth.

There are some cards that go up, no question. But it always seems that EA does something to affect the cards price, and rarely do I see the price go up substantially. And if I wait, and the price goes up, idk I just think differently about it and move on.

Save your coins until Easter promo then go wild, it's end game at that point.  and Jerry rice will have a UL card soon.  As long as it not a limited it will be free with tokens.
