Folks, I hate glitches too. But, and this took me a long time to reconcile, we aren’t playing football. We are playing a monetized derivative of football. Madden isn’t football. It’s a fantasy game built upon the premise of football but has become its own iteration of the game. Once I accepted that I was able to not lose my mind over dudes with no hair on their nuts talking shit after they glitch out my cover four for a one play touchdown and learn to spank their asses and call their mothers a whore in non-bannable ways.

not a glitch it’s to simulate hitting the open field because you don’t see gibbs going 22 in the back field but he hits 22 mph in the open stay mad if ur losing to something designed

Speed boosting DEFINITELY wins you more games. Apparently you haven't faced particularly stiff competition. I don't liek it anymore than the next guy, but EA clearly had no idea it was even part of this year's game, they seemed more surprised than the fans when MCS players were regularly using it and winning games, as a direct result.

Having EA reps referring to the speed boost as some kind of 'feature' is exactly what terrible software engineers resort to all of the time when they have to explain bad coding. It's just the engineering team spinning the truth because they are too incompetent to get it right after it's become increasingly problematic over the past few months.
THIS^^ 100% this. Watching the MCS commentators attempt to twist the speed boost nonsense into a "feature" was high comedy. They had no clue it was part of this year's game, and have even less ideas for how to go about patching that shit out. The game has had the exact same bugs and glitches since PS3 generation and nobody has the foggiest idea how to begin to unwind this mess of a code base.
The game needs to be rewritten from the ground up, preferably using a game engine that's NOT Frostbite 3.x or whatever version we're on these days. I'd give my lil left nutter for a modern (UE5?), competitive, fair, balanced and hopefully FUN simulation fatball game. With or without NFL branding. Beggars can't be choosers, but clearly having the league involved makes it more fun, but all of our modern institutions are beyond corrupt and broken, so that sure as shit isn't happening.
We're gonna have to hope that the modding community can figure something out, because EA's new ownership sure as shit isn't coming to save us.
