What Do 99 Man and 99 Zone Mean?

All of my DBS are maxed out at 99 man and zone, and yet they cover absolutely nothing. They get burned on every single play, with receivers running wild wide open all over the field. Eight men in zone coverage? Torched. Double a WR in man? Flamed.  

If these stats don't mean anything, what should I be looking for when trying to find or build DBs who can do their basic jobs?

Apparently coverage ratings are threshold based???

So a 95 Man is equal to 99 Man?

Same with Zone

Also, for zone, you need to focus on setting you flats and hook curls, and using with undershades

For man...if you are getting beat inside...shade inside

If getting beat on corner routes, shade outside

nothing....EA and their INFINITE lazy greedy wisdom decided to make a trash Pokemon avengers game where players do nothing without superpower abilities smh.......Abilities have ruined the Madden experience.......I miss the good ol days where stats mattered and players actually played how they were intended to

It’s an RNG animation based game. A 99 man corner isn’t going to win his matchup 99% of the time. I’m not sure what the actually percentages are… but let’s just say a 90 man corner wins his matchup 60% of the time. A 99 man corner may bump that to 70%. So you get a 10% better chance at winning the matchup. Since it’s RNG, it’s like flipping a coin. Yes it’s 50/50, but you could flip tails 10 times in a row. 

You also have to take account of your opponents receivers and their stats… the scheme you’re running. 

Basically speed and stick skills is all that matters in this game. A player that calls the right plays and can guess what their opponent is doing will win a lot of games.

I did the skills trainer a couple weeks ago and it said the knocking the ball loose.is dictates by the defenders man/zone coverage rating. Don't know if that answers your question but maybe something.
