Did you apply? I heard they were still hiring. Also, you shouldn't be able to load in and play vs 12 year olds if you're a professional madden player. That's all I'm advocating for. There's no actual skill gap in madden, it's purely a knowledge gap of how the video game works. If you spend the equivalent of a full-time job playing madden there should be a category for you to play likewise people. Y'all are so offended by the 1/10 rating that you don't even understand the point of the post.

All I know is I'm tired of being told I don't know how to play defense when the opponents that give me the hardest time aren't giving me different looks, aren't giving me different route combos, and aren't giving me any challenge other than to try to guess where the ball will go next because one of their three variations of the same motion play will always have two guys completely uncovered in two seconds regardless of where I tell my defenders to go.

I finally locked onto what a guy was doing on offense and defense, and picked him off once, and then stuffed him on downs. Then what? He starts the play-flipping nonsense to break my man coverages. You guys apologizing for this crap are jokes. And cheaters.

If there’s no skill gap, then don’t ever beat your chest here or anywhere about anything you do in this game. There was zero skill involved. It goes both ways.

Last year I completely disagreed with you, this year I see your side of the coin. Defense is nearly impossible. None of these guys can convince me I'm total shit either because I win 2/3 of my games and have 8 super bowls with under 150 games played. Winning off time management IS NOT FUN, I do not care that I'm winning games. It's not an enjoyable experience. Every madden I've been a defensive player, consistently hold most players to under 14 points. This year I'm all of a sudden an offensive guru? nah, the game is just terrible. 

Full disclosure, I run a glitchy run play out of a pistol set with OP blocking, and then audible to bunch x nasty or bunch strong, and then flip, and then while flipping use conductor to do 3+ hot routes, set protection then quick snap and even quicker throw... I have become what I despise. If my opponents would play normal I'd happily do that. It is hilarious to see how many people are offended by the 1/10 rating because they are cheesers though haha.

Clearly you only read half of that message, and I've never beat my chest anywhere? I even stated on another comment my win/loss record is pretty average, but I'm not terrible but to even get that far I have to play the game in a way that makes it not fun. I never conceded or gave up. I joined the cheese just like everyone else, but y'all just assumed I was terrible because I think there should be a place for everyone. It is a video game after all.

I just appreciate you for acknowledging that there are toxic gamers that ruin the experience for everyone. I wish the game didn't punish the players with scruples, but I understand how maddening it can be to lose again and again, and to just want a W doing what everyone else is doing. I'm just not there yet, and will probably quit the game first.

It's a shame, because football is my favorite sport above all others, and the rest aren't even close.

I can sympathize, not only is football my only sport (I also run local flag leagues and tourneys for youth/adults in my area) as well as play flag football year-round. This is the ONLY game I play. I don't spend a ton of time playing it. It would be nice when I sit down and relax to be able to play a handful of enjoyable games, but if I lose 2-3 in a row, I get bored or frustrated and have to put it down. Which isn't really how I want to spend what little leisure time I have (been working 60 hours a week for 3 months now). 

They kind of unintentionally separated the sweats and the casuals by introducing special h2h events with juiced rewards, but they could go a step further. I definitely rage bated these guys by saying "hey, let's rank you 1/10 because you play like a loser" but I'm sure they'd love it if I said to rank them 10/10 for being SUPER GOOD! 

Regardless, if you agree with the current matching system there's something wrong with you, and they're only upset because if we give them their own sand box they can't pick on lesser players. They're lying to themselves if they say they love the comp. If they did, they'd be mcs competitors not mut.gg forum readers.

I think these are garbage takes, but you're trying to take on a straw man here. You're trying to shoehorn a rational football explanation into the cracks of a philosophy that isn't even pretending Madden is a football game. The solution here, as has previously been stated many times by the players who are similarly aligned, is that you're asking Madden to be something it's not, and you should find something you can enjoy.

There was a time when I was harsh on Madden detractors, arguing that the artificial intelligence needed to make ten CPU-controlled players function seamlessly as a team was too complicated for the technology of the late-aughts. Almost twenty years later, the commercial AI market has a value into the trillions, and there's little excuse for the sort of nonsense that happens in Madden. You've nailed the issue, but it's a non-issue with the people you are debating with. In their view, the broken bits are weaknesses to be exploited, and if you're complaining about that, you're creating your own problem.

This entire paragraph, highlights one's condescending nature both in the argument itself, and the words used to make said argument. This egotist who gets off with spending the majority of his day, formulating entire theses while debating about a football game, genuinely believes that people are unable to understand their point entirely, and proceed to write an entire paragraph about how they cannot understand it; instead of simply accepting that they do not agree with it. Not only does this person think everyone must agree with them, but they also think that they're too stupid to even understand. Maybe the commenter should consider that we aren't all maniacal pricks who care way too much about an argument over a football video game.  Maybe...we all know the game is completely flawed and just try to enjoy it for what it is. Yeah the game needs work. Maybe EAs new ownership will shake some things up. Probably not. But when has EA ever done anything to please anyone? I just don't understand the expectation. Yes. EA wants to incentivize people to spend money (they are a business after all). If you only got matched up against people in your weight class, there would be no reason for a lot of people to spend money. I admit I am NMS but I do play the game a lot because it's the only game I play when I have free time. But that is how Madden is built, you either spend money or play the game a lot to compete.

lol so your argument is FOR EA to make more money by making lower-level players play with pros and potential pros, so that they spend more money. As a nms spent player I hope this is more of attempt at reasoning than a reflection of your own opinion. I can handle guys telling me I'm sorry, and that I need to get better. Advocating for the billionaire as part of your argument is the craziest thing on this whole thread. credit for thinking outside the box I guess
