Its not a terrible analogy.  The town over from me had a future sec standout and we played them every year. That one kid would single handily destroy us. I loved it. Tackling him felt like a win. I love competition and especially when they are better than me. Id play a madden pro 100 times in a row chasing 1 win.

I like playing against skilled people. I don't want to play a chess game against a trash player.

The problem is that most of the guys playing this game aren't playing football. They're playing Abuse the AI. It's always been a stupid way to play any game, as once you know the script, you know how to rewrite the ending. With 11 players on the field and your opponent controlling only one, there's too many opportunities to take advantage of the other ten idiots. Anyone playing this game that way just makes legitimate players regret that they bought a football game expecting to play football.

people will troll to get these "sweats" to play casuals let alone anyone cares to rate anyone, having someone MANUALLY judge or AUTOMATE would be miserable for everyone involved cause they could get it wrong, or mess the entire system all together/along with the servers (which has happened in several editions of many games they came out with.)

i've accepted that it's a strategy game, it's suppose to challenge/stress your mind.

Bro, I played against Jordan Poyer and I kid you not. He hurdled me 4x in one game. However, at that time I was a high school kid, and he was a high school kid. When I log on to relax and play a couple games of madden on Saturday night, I don’t want to play against Hexied, Dubby, Dcroft, Civil, or anyone remotely close to the top 100 players in the world. I’m not entirely ass at the game, so you’re “get better argument” is as weak as your high school sob story.

Ya, definitely an idea that needs a lot of work. It is concerning how many people are arguing for being able to pick on low hanging fruit with the “just get better” comments. My friend originally proposed the idea just over being scum kicked and blocking extra points. Which is just an annoying mostly infective tactic. But really if we could rate those people 1/10 and just make them play each other that’d be satisfying.

For the love of everything holy. Please tell me how in this braindead world that blocking extra points is a glitch or even close to cheese? They can block it because they know the timing, they know that you are kicking as soon as you can. Just wait a second and you mess up their timing.  In the real world if the defense knew the exact timing of the snap they would block a lot too. I've only ever blocked one kick and dont even try 99 percent of the time so i'm not taking up for myself, i think its funny to watch them run into my line though.

But this sums up everything in the sub comminuty of losers who say everything that beats them is cheese and if only everyone would play real football they would come out on top with their great football iq they think they have.

This isn't a JV vs Varsity situation. This is a Sam Houston State vs Alabama type situation. It's the same league, you were just outmatched.

You just need an algorithm that filters players who repeatedly call the same plays, or plays out of the same formation, even when the opponent's personnel dictate that a football coach would do otherwise. Let the stretch-run-spamming, RPO-spamming, Bunch X-spamming, Mid-Blitz-spamming freaks beat each other over the heads, and for those players that can call a game claiming to represent football like it's actually a football game, they can play a version of this game that would actually be enjoyable.

There are probably a handful of other cheesy things that happen that would be hard to build an algorithm around, but this first approach would get rid of a lot of the chumps that make so many games a negative-play experience.

Anyone who agrees with this just sucks at the game. If you suck, just say so, or quit.  That easy. Plenty of other video games, or in general, things to do in life. If you aren't having fun, then quit! I'm having lots of fun this year after taking a break. Bunch of complainers.

Huh? Cheating 🤣😭 Yeah man I took a break from Madden and MUT for 4 years. Came back this year, tried to play how I used to play. Got ran through. Changed my gameplan. Now I do okay. I still get destroyed sometimes. I still get mad at the game when I seemingly can't stop someone's only 2 or 3 plays they run. My record is only about 3 wins for every loss. It's a football video game bud. If you want complete realism go throw on some pads and touch some grass. Way too much to worry about than cry over a video game. I've been having a lot of fun since I took a break on the game. Maybe you should try it! You expect people to be brainde4d like we were playing Madden 11 knowing nothing. Times have changed bud. Gaming has changed. Why would you not use the best game mechanics? It would be dumb not to. From a competitive standpoint. I agree there could be some work done on mm but your guys theories on how it should be done are just LOL.
