My brother and I play a lot of Squads together and recently started running into an issue where the game would try to load, then boot both of us back to the title screen. The weird part was that it only worked if I played offense and he played defense.
After a bunch of trial and error (and some Google searching), here’s what we found and what finally fixed it:
What caused it:
I had two of the same strategy cards equipped on defense. It was a purple/epic strat card that boosts attributes for the entire defense, and I had it slotted for both LB and DT. The game did not like that at all.
What fixed it:
Once I removed the duplicate strat card, Squads loaded perfectly again.
Recommended troubleshooting steps if you’re having this issue:
- Check your strategy cards first – make sure you don’t have duplicates equipped (especially epic/purple cards).
- Remove abilities – some players online mentioned ability-related glitches.
- Set Best Overall lineup – save your current lineup first just in case.
