Idk what "Just starting out" for you means, but a card that you could genuinely run with no abilities if you really wanted to, is Caleb Williams. He's pretty much the best or 2nd best card in the game and he is dirt cheap! Also a plus, he has I believe the fastest base hot routes in the game(you just have to wait for him to get set), and he also has one of the best releases in the entire game. Definitely try him out.

Caleb like the other guy said . He doesn't need gunslinger and he's cheap.
