I’ve always ran 4 edges on the line and I aim for high block shed in case of runs, but does a DT really make a big difference with similar stats just obviously strength stat higher and heavier? Feel like I’ll lose pressure/speed up the middle at the cost of trying to stop the occasional run up the middle

Depends. If they are heavy it will. Weight thresholds are at 300 and then again at 350. These players seem to get a bull rush animation when they win from the DT position and if they have good accel and pursuit they will get to the QB quick when they do this. Just started using Top 100 Wyatt with CS BND Haynesworth and the pressure up the middle is quick af almost every time.
I never knew about those thresholds @hackthacode once again with some helpful insight...
Have you ever thought about running squads?

I just stlwitched to the same combo and the pressure is Night and day from when I was running JJ Watt as dt2 w/ Jalen.
Now I have heavy pressure up the middle while Watt is going crazy off the edge. Weight definitely matters.
Was wondering the same thing cause I use Too Tall Jones at DT but I constantly get beat up the middle even though he has great stats. And he rarely swats any balls for me. We just have so many edge rushers in this game compared to DT to my TT
